It’s Become Apparent I Know Nothing.

I’ve been absolutely wrong about at least the last three elections. Wrong as wrong could be. If you come here for political advice you are a fool because I am a fool. Thank goodness this is a blog about Catholicism and culture which just sometimes sounds a lot like politics.

The thing is, when I am wrong I think about why I was wrong. My wife reminds me how wrong I am often so I get a great deal of practice in considering how wrong I was.

When Joe Biden received 81 million votes in 2020, I believed that to be the new normal. I believed that’s what Democrats would be receiving from here on out. But that’s not what happened. Kamala sunk back down to the 69 million range.

In 2024, Kamala only received 69 million voters. I contrast, Trump seems about to receive around 73 or 74 million just like he did last time.

So where did those 12 millions voters go who voted for Biden last time but disappeared in 2024?

I’m interested in that.

Is this evidence of fraud?

One could argue that some who voted for Biden now voted for Trump but remember that Trump is set to receive the same amount of votes he received last time. And here’s the thing, in 2020 there were 158 millions votes cast. So far, there are about 143 million votes cast but expect that number to go up in coming days. (Hey, there are still some dumpsters mysteriously full on ballots they need to find in Arizona, amirite?)

My mind keeps going back to that moment when Pennsylvania announced they were done counting for the night but Trump’s lawyers jumped in with an injunction from a judge forcing them back to work until the votes were counted. I can tell you that when I heard they were done counting for the night I thought, “here we go again.”

Perhaps not allowing them to stop circumvented some plan? It’s possible.

Is it also possible that the GOTV effort was so much better in 2020 as opposed to 2024? Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaah, I guess it’s possible. But 12 million different? Seriously?

So this is what I’m thinking about today. I’m also looking at what some others are doing in the face of being proven wrong.

Also on the front page, “He Became Vessel for the Anger of Millions.”

So they’re not changing their point of view at all. Kamala lost because…angry racists.

If they are incapable of honesty assessing their failed plan, they will not be capable of changing it. The left put forward a word-salad spewing candidate who was annointed (not elected) and called for turning the page for “change” while being unable to say one thing she would change from the Biden administration. She never explained 180 degree shifts in major policies. She was unable to document a single accomplishment as VP. But they want us to believe people didn’t vote for her because they’re angry and hate black people.

That is not the truth. The only thing that can save the Democrat Party is truth. There are some attempting to be heard on the left but they’re being ignored.

I pray that cooler heads prevail but the heat in this country is getting cauldronesque. I pray for a miracle, one that converts millions to Christ. Right now we can’t agree on anything. What is human life? What is a woman? What is truth?

A country that doesn’t speak the same language or share the same stories isn’t a country. It’s a tinder box. And we’re all playing with matches.
