Can I Have Some Superstition On My Burger?
A Buddhist, a Priest, and a Rabbi walk into a burger joint….
The beginning of a bad joke? Well, yes and ummm….yes.
The new owners at the New York Burger Company franchise at 470 W. 23rd St. believe they’ve covered all the bases.
The owners invited a Buddhist priest, Catholic priest and Jewish Rabbi to the site Monday to chase away some bad spirits and sprinkle some holy water.
At least four restaurants have come and gone in the same location over the past 10 years, WCBS 880′s Paul Murnane reported.
Far be it from me to criticize superstition. If you saw the antics I go through for a Notre Dame game, you would be ashamed. Then again, I am pretty sure that God is no longer on Notre Dame’s side so there is no point in taking chances.
All that said, having good food might have longer term effect. By the way, I am not sure how the Buddhist helps since many of them don’t eat meat and its a burger joint. Apparently the Hindus couldn’t make it.
