In the following video, people on the streets of New York are asked what they ‘think’ when they hear the words ‘Jesus’ and ‘Christian’. We use the word think very loosely here.
The ‘Jesus’ reactions are unbelievably banal. We hear things like:
- Good guy
- Love, compassion, diversity[?]
- Bearded, Kind
- Excellent man, they named a religion after him.
- Altruistic philanthropy.
- And a few savior responses
Amazingly enough, nobody said God. Think that that is bad? Wait until you hear the responses for ‘Christian’. The people must have just exited from the T.V. audience of ‘The View’.
This is why friends don’t let friends read the New York Times.

Um, I think one can be a Christian AND read the New York Times. I’m one.
What’s to be afraid of?

Nothing really…but it tends to make people humorless. Not you, of course. 😉

I read it every day.
And I’m still smiling. 🙂
