Matt Swain over at Apoloblogology is running a clever contest where he runs a ridiculous feel-good quote which means little or nothing and then asks whether that quote was from Joel Osteen or Barack Obama.
The first quote was: “To me, we’re marketing hope.”
46% of you selected Osteen.
54% attributed the quote to Obama.
Correct answer: Osteen!
The winners won absolutely nothing. This week’s entry is this pricless pearl of wisdom: “If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.”
So here’s the question: Osteen or Obama? Go vote here.

My guess is that this contest will prove a theory I’ve held for some time, but have been unable to prove, which goes as follows: “Most people are wrong.”

My husband and I are convinced that Osteen is an anti-christ.
Why? Because some one gave us one of his books and we actually read it.
It contained such gems as the assertion that it you’re a true child of God, everyone will always treat you well.
Yeah. Cause it worked JUST like that for the Martyrs. And the Apostles. And ESPECIALLY for Jesus……
Sigh. Also the whole “Faith, Hope and Victory” translation of Paul was a little…ok a lot… creepy.
The only reason we won’t give Osteen capital ‘A’ Antichrist status is because he doesn’t have enough of an audience yet….
yet….
