“‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” – Matthew 16:3
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” – Hosea 4:6
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. “ – George Santayana
A sincere thanks to Karen Hall who pointed us to this absolutely fascinating and thought provoking video. It is a little long, but stick with it if you can. It gets more compelling the longer you stick with it.
Let me know your thoughts.

That is eerie. Especially the quote used in congress.
I do believe this. WE are always being called back. I do believe God allows things/disaters to happen. We need to always be ready and always repenting of our sinful ways.

My thoughts?
In the words of Will Smith from the movie ‘IRobot’: “Somehow, I told you so just doesn’t cut it.”

I thought God doesn’t punish people for their actions? We’re all good, and Jesus helps us become the people we want to be.

I couldn’t find “Part 2” but the original radio broadcast is in the 2005 Archive at sidroth.org. (Date: 10/3-7/05). This video was made from the Wednesday program. The information in Thursday’s program is pretty compelling, as well.

Wow ,,, much food for thought here. Another note from the Bible: “The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether”.

For your information, I found Sen. Daschle’s speech where he used those very words. It’s in page S9284 of Congressional Record – Senate of September 12th 2001.
The context is in his introduction of the Sense of the Senate Resolution in response to the previous day’s attack (SJ Res. 22).
Here is the page, in PDF format. As you will see, the Rabbi was a good reader; he quoted the Senator verbatim.

it is interesting, but, nothing has been built at ground zero, right? (too many opposing committess and dithering, but still nothing bigger and better)

All this assumes that what happened on 9-11 was not an attack on us by an anti-Judeo-Christian enemy. I do believe that God does judge. But not everything bad that happens is a judgement from God. We do have enemies who have made clear their goal-to wage war on infidels until the entire world submits. (the word islam does not mean ‘peace’ it means ‘submission’) If Charles Martel, 739,
Pope Urban II, 1099,
Don John of Austria, 1571 or
Jan Sobieski, 1683, had thought like this, we wouldn’t be having this conversation because there would be no Jews and Christianity would be a small and beleagured minority. And, as a woman, I would be illiterate.
Yes, the parallels to the scripture are striking. I’m not exactly shocked that politicians would use scripture out of context to score political points. And, certainly, this nation has many things to repent of, but, IMHO, whether or not we rebuild on that particular piece of property, is less important than whether we successfully defend ourselves and our freedom to practice our Faith. There is a diiferent scripture that comes to my mind. Jesus said “When the Son of Man returns, will He find Faith on the earth.” Somehow, I doubt that the faith to which He referred, was Islam.
