I’m putting this up not for political reasons. I’m putting it up because it’s adorable. I mean, it does show how cute kids are and that babies are a blessing and that I wish we would all accept them as such but…anyway…here’s the cutest moment from the campaign season. I have labeled it cute so therefore you can assume that Joe Lieberman is not in the video although he might have a certain hangdog look that some might find appealing. Not me.

Very cute. My favorite Piper Palin moment was when Mom was introducing the family and Piper was the first one to pick up on the fact that maybe they should stand–and got the older kids to stand, too. A true younger sibling–knows what’s going on and what everyone else should be doing, and tells them to do it!

It’s more than cute. It says something about a loving family. The minute I saw it I knew she was just copying her Mom, that’s where little girls learn about how to treat babies. You don’t learn to lick your hand to slick-down your brother’s hair at day-care. It’s tender. Somehow, I can’t imagine Hilary Clinton doing that. Or Nancy Pelosi. Why?
To them, it seems to me, it would be gross! To so many of us out here in the ugly masses, it’s as natural as saying “Spit that right here in my hand!”

It is adorable, and is something that many with no kids (or small families) don’t really get–that older siblings help a lot with younger ones. Nothing sinister or repressive–just helping to keep them entertained, changing a diaper or two, that sort of thing. Which is why a mom with 5 kids (and really with only 3 ‘young ones’) can get so much done. While a mom with just 2 might have trouble juggling it all.
