Even though it has been out for days, so far only Drudge and FoxNews are reporting on the startling (not really for anyone paying attention) audio of an interview The One gave in 2001. In the interview, which I have now dubbed the Obamunist Manifesto, Obama makes clear that he does not love or understand this country at all. In it, he says the “The Constitution reflects the fundamental flaw of this country.” Do people understand, or care, what this man has said? What he thinks? The founding principles of this country of limited government represent a fundamental flaw. A fundamental flaw. But, through the courts, he thinks we can still change that.
Check out these money quotes from the Obamunist Manifesto courtesy of Newsbusters transcription:
You know, if you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the courts, I think where it succeeded was to get formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples — so that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at a lunch counter and order, and as long as I was able to pay for it I’d be OK. But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.
And to that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf. And that hasn’t shifted. And one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, because the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which to bring about redistributive change. And in some ways we still suffer from that.
…
The court’s just not very good at it, and politically it’s very hard to legitimize opinions from the court in that regard. So, I mean, I think that although you can craft theoretical justifications for it [redistribution of wealth] legally, y’know I think any three of us sitting here could come up with a rationale for bringing about economic change through the courts. …..
The man is a Marxist, pure and simple. A baby killing Marxist. God help us.

It baffles me that people still don’t get it. The guy is a Marxist – how could someone who has been under the influence of Rev. Wright for 20 years (that same reverend who embraces and preaches the “black” version of the Liberation Theology) NOT be a Marxist….
Wake up America! Wake up already!
Our Lady of Victory is the only one who can help us now as Fr. Corapi encourages us to do:

I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that God’s will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being.

I pray the rosary every day but do not know how to make a Novena. I also have never heard of “Our Lady of Victory” before. Please excuse my ignorance and enlighten me so that I can ramp up my efforts in the next week.

A novena is simply a 9-day long prayer for a certain intention (sometimes it can be 9 hours, or nine months….). The word “novena” is derived from the Latin word for “nine”: novem.
Below is the article by Fr. Corapi with reference to Our Blessed Mother as “Our Lady of Victory”.

*******
Among the most important titles we have in the Catholic Church for
the Blessed Virgin Mary are Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of the
Rosary. These titles can be traced back to one of the most decisive
times in the history of the world and Christendom. The Battle of
Lepanto took place on October 7 (date of feast of Our Lady of
Rosary), 1571. This proved to be the most crucial battle for the
Christian forces against the radical Muslim navy of Turkey. Pope Pius
V led a procession around St. Peter¡¯s Square in
Vatican City praying the Rosary. He showed true pastoral leadership
in recognizing the danger posed to Christendom by the radical Muslim
forces, and in using the means necessary to defeat it. Spiritual
battles require spiritual weapons, and this more than anything was a
battle that had its origins in the spiritual order¡ªa true battle
between good and evil.
Today we have a similar spiritual battle in progress¡ªa battle between
the forces of good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies, life
and death. If we do not soon stop the genocide of abortion in the
United States, we shall run the course of all those that prove by
their actions that they are enemies of God¡ªtotal collapse, economic,
social, and national. The moral demise of a nation results in the
ultimate demise of a nation. God is not a disinterested spectator to
the affairs of man. Life begins at conception.
This is an unalterable formal teaching of the Catholic Church. If you
do not accept this you are a heretic in plain English. A single
abortion is homicide. The more than 48,000,000 abortions since Roe v.
Wade in the United States constitute genocide by definition. The
group singled out for death¡ªunwanted, unborn children.
No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a
proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to
preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is
abortion. I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray
the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election
Day, November 4th. Pray that God¡¯s will be done and the most innocent
and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected
from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is
abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an
innocent human being.
May God grant us the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and counsel to
form our conscience in accordance with authentic Catholic teaching,
and then vote that well©formed Catholic conscience.

Let us pray:
Our Lady of Victory, we have unshaken confidence in your influence with your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Humbly we ask your intercession for all of us associated under your title, Our Lady of Victory.
We beg your powerful assistance also for our own personal needs. (Please mention here your special intention in you own words.) In your maternal kindness please ask Jesus to forgive all our sins and failings, and to secure His blessings for us and for all the works of charity dedicated to your name. We implore you to obtain for us the grace of sharing Christ’s victory and your forever in the life that knows no ending. May we join you ther to praise forever the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, on God, for all the ages to come. Amen.

It would be important to listen to the entire radio interview rather than out-of-context quotes. That’s what I bothered to do. It is also important to get your definitions straight. Socialism is public ownership. Obama does not advocate public ownership over private. And redistribution of wealth already happens every single day in this country – that is how we fund public schools, public universities, Medicare, parks, etc. Redistribution of wealth in no way violates Catholic teaching, as this blog points out.
And redistribution of wealth in the form of universal health coverage and a minimum wage that is actually a living one may just reduce abortions. For every 5000 babies killed in the US, 4000 of them have mothers who feel they are too poor to support another child. Abortion has economic causes, in addition to moral ones.
October 27, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Yes, that’s just what we need, a universal health care plan that offers taxpayer subsidized abortions. That’ll solve it.
October 27, 2008 at 9:42 pm
In a Novena, do you say all three sets of mysteries (Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious) in one day or just one? Thanks.

Point by point:
Socialism – what Obama proposes is, in fact, socialist. Taxing corporations to the extent that much of their profit belongs to the government means that they are no longer in business for themselves, but for the State. Whoever nets the proceeds is the proper owner of that business. That is socialism. Add in the proposal to move from private health insurance companies to government plans, and then you have the State’s direct or indirect control over a huge swath of the economy.
This is not a secret. The Radical Left has long desired to destroy capitalism. Hugo Chavez says as much every week like a metronome, and it’s the same beat that moved all the socialists back to Marx. Obama learned all he knows from the likes of these people (Saul Alinsky, William Ayres, etc). You’re fooling yourself if you think Obama is any different.
Redistribution of Wealth – it does happen every day, but first off, not nearly to the extent Obama would have it; and second, most of your examples are not redistributive. Parks and schools (as well as other, basic things you omit, such as police, military, roads, mail) are services – everyone contributes because everyone benefits or has access to these things. Obama’s idea is not to spend money on goods and services, but merely to move it from the more successful to the needy, at the whim of the State – and that is a difference of kind, not merely degree. Remember – if it is the State’s gift, then the State can simply take it away at whim; do we really want to trust the most vulnerable people among us to the caprice of the government?
People don’t mind taxes that bring some tangible benefit – they mind a great deal at excessive taxes that destroy the ability to create wealth and thus make the entire country poor. You have never read a fairy tale that said, “The taxes were high, and the land was happy and prosperous.”
Catholic teaching – the link, it does not mean what you think it means… Distributism is not redistributive – at least, not the way Obama would have it. His “spread the wealth around” doesn’t mean giving the workers a stake in the company, it means taking the company; at least, taking the company’s profits.
Mr. Powell’s article strikes me as nearly the opposite of Marxism – the people choose where to shop and how to buy, to shape companies the way they’d like them to be. They obviously can’t do that if they lose control of large portions of their income to the State.
And redistribution of wealth in the form of universal health coverage and a minimum wage that is actually a living one may just reduce abortions. – It may also put a good number of working class people out of work entirely, because a business that is forced to pay each worker $10/hour instead of $7 is going to cut staff to keep total payroll under control, or else raise prices to meet the higher overhead, getting the same (or worse) result in the end.
I am all for cutting business subsidies and letting them compete fairly on level ground, but that’s a far cry from taxing them into oblivion.
H Bunce’s comment at that link does a fine job fitting distributive principles into an capitalist economy. In short, if you really like distributism, then voting for Obama is rather a bad idea – his economic theories would destroy the co-op and the family business. (Joe the Plumber is NOT a conglomerate.)

suburbaneconomist: your comment on abortion flies counter to the facts.

“We do not support government bailouts of private institutions. Government interference in the markets exacerbates problems in the marketplace and causes the free market to take longer to correct itself. We believe in the free market as the best tool to sustained prosperity and opportunity for all.” – 2008 GOP Platform

You guys are CRAZY!!! , do you really think Obama is a Marxist, if you do you probably worship the Bush adminisration and believe anything McCain says just to get more votes. McCain also says that he would put country first, it obviously didn’t do that when he chose an unexperience Palin, to win over the Clinton votes and the elction. The people saw through that and McCain’s lies and will choose the one who they think is best for this country an d that is Obama.

Here’s how it goes…
I own a small company. If Obama raises my taxes (he will), I will probably have to let 1 or 2 people go and raise the prices on my services. So, I’m sure those 1 or 2 people will be very happy with their tax cut from Obama now that they are UNEMPLOYED! They can go home and say, “Honey, I have good news, we got a tax cut and my take home pay will be more!…oh, but I lost my job so now we don’t have any pay at all.”
The other Obama problem (he’s really not very smart, OR this is part of a master plan to drive the economoy down and then swoop in to save it with actual pure socialism – government price controls and ownership of corporations) is his threat to small businesses to offer health care (or else). When times get lean, companies have to sometimes cut benefits, but if you do that Obama fines you. So, what is the alternative to cutting benefits? You have to fire people instead.
Obama’s policies will increase unemployment and raises prices for all americans.

To the Anonymous coward that left the second to the last comment, it is clear that you are not a Christian but rather a liberal who happened upon this blog. "Worship the Bush administration?" You are sick, and sick for supporting an Abortionist and believing that he is best for the country. Barack Hussein Obama is a Communist/Black Supremacist and secretly a Muslim. His wife is a Black Supremacist as well. If Obama is able to undermine the Constitution and gain complete power then the genocide will be extended to include people who are already born. As Pastor Martin Niemoller would have said: "Then they came for the unborn children, but I didn't speak up, because I was an adult."
