NBC’s Ann Curry sat down with Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren to find out why he hates gays so much.
Ann asks Pastor Warren if he is a homophobe. When Warren laughs at the suggestion Curry screams “I AM SERIOUS!!! WHY DO YOU HATE GAYS!!!” Ok, she doesn’t really say that but you can see the rage on the inside as she pushes Warren on the answer.
Then Curry asks Warren if he would change his position if it were shown that people were born with that disposition. See Warren’s very good answer and then I have a question.
Look at Ann’s face. She is clearly wondering “I am a beautiful woman, right? Do you mean me? …”
Or is it me?

But of course she wouldn’t have asked. That runs the risk of Pastor Warren saying no.

Ah, the power of the flutter of a woman’s eyes…even if she is a big pain in where the seat meets the saddle.

That interviewer was clearly really emotionally invested in this.
Bravo for Warren – that was an honest answer, and a good one. I don’t think it matters whether it’s nature, nurture, or both; in the end, we make our own decisions.

Great answer there Pastor Warren.

Yep, she was hoping for a roll in the hay. It’s clearly in her eyes.

Rich Warren was actually the least provocative choice Obama could have made. It was Warren who hosted the only “town meeting” between the major candidates that wasn’t a total farce. If Obama is going to govern “from the middle,” he’s going to do what he has to in setting that tone. I’m not saying he’s to be admired for it; it’s simply in keeping with his current transition strategy.
Unless you look more closely at the “reproductive health” issues page on the transition website, of course.

I can’t wait for the boos from the crowd when he takes the podium for his prayer. “Tolerance” at its finest.

I have to say that I’m really pleased by O’bama’s choice of Warren. Though he is plainly on the other side of many issues from Warren, reaching out to him like this is just the kind of gesture we need. I really hope that the liberals who are criticizing this now will think twice before inaguration day and be big about it.

Presuming that they think at all to begin with…a very questionable assumption considering whom they just elected.

That look was’nt a ‘who me?’ look, but a ‘why do’nt you?’ look. They just do not understand that some people can actually control themselves, and also actually want to. Warren must be a little un-un-natural, or something.

Does anyone with at least a junior high education really take Rick Warren seriously? His approval or disapproval of any behavior is stunning only in its irrevelance.

Mack —
Rick Warren is pastor of the largest single church in America. He is author of the largest selling self-help book ever published. Even if you think he’s an idiot, you have to take him seriously. Obama, obviously, does and I think this is for the good. As long as Liberal eliteists sniff at those with faith as being “ignorant,” and as long as beliving Christians despise the godless as “immoral,” this country will remain divided.
So, go ahead, deride Rick Warren, alienate the 26% of Americans who call themselves “Evangelical,” blow this chance to bring the country together a little bit, lose the next election.

As a Catholic there are more than a few things I’d take issue with Rick Warren about, but he’s reasonable and sincere (not to mention high profile). I think this was a smart choice on Obama’s part (and consider the alternative. Rev. Wright?!
Warren has also taken a courageous, articulate stand on some critical hot button issues lately, such as abortion and gay marriage. His question to Obama during the Saddleback Forum (“when in your view does a fetus get human rights?” was brilliant and one of the few times someone forced the Boy Wonder to defend his radical pro abortion views. He also handled Ann Curry’s shrill accusations with aplomb.
More power to Warren.
