So this must be the new age of bipartisanship everyone’s talking about. The only thing Obama left out was the Touchdown Shuffle. Now, just imagine yourself that George W. Bush had said this to congressional Democrats. The screams of indignation from the media about his cockiness and partisanship would be unceasing. But the media seems to be suffering a fit of giggles over this.
According to The Politico:
President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning – but he also left no doubt about who’s in charge of these negotiations. “I won,” Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation.
First, note that according to the media, Republicans have “gripes” with Obama’s plans while Democrats always had “grave concerns” over Bush’s plans.
I must tell you that for me, Obama’s presidency is not getting off to a great start. His handling of the media and now this makes him seem like a bully -which I fear is exactly what he really is.

I’ve been trying to be optimistic, but it’s really hard. Things like this don’t help at all.

Come on! Where’s the HOPE?

Well, we have elected this man president, the president of all Americans, even of those whose slaughter he is now arranging.
So, we should in a spirit of bi-partisanship get behind this man, and do all we can to push him or pray him out of office.
There’s now enough reason to apply for the licence tag, IMPCH O, is there not, and drop all the stupid rhetoric about wishing him and his administration well. I wish his administration paralysis, imbroglios, disintegration, frustration and a swift removal from office, by every legal means, and the strong intervention of Divine Providence.
Without wishing Obama the least personal harm, I’ve adopted as a mantra the scriptural prayer, “May another take his office.”
Ordinarily we want people in office who will defend our right to life, not facilitate our execution.
O must go.

I couldn’t agree with you more. He does seem like a bully.

Get ready for lots of this “ride the wave or be crushed by it” talk.

He is the personification of ‘entitlement’ delusion.
Hope he has a sharp learning curve and can change his attitude to one of ‘service’.

The following story is from Comcast news, and to my mind illustrates why we should jack up the rhetoric to ferocious levels, casting Obama as the Great Divider and Polarizer. He has offended, offended, offended us. We are appalled at his lack of sensitivity. He is an unloving and cruel man, etc. This is the kind of language that even Democrats can understand.
We cannot allow his reversal of the Mexico City policy to be done in a low key way.
We need to make suddenly, blindingly and deafeningly clear that with this “low profile” gesture he has re-ignited the culture wars.
We want him, all of Congress and the entire country to be completely taken aback.
But no, I fear that “moderation” will be the order of the day, that we will continue the search for gentle, peaceful words and will couch them in long boring philosophical paragraphs delivered at an even pitch with no “histrionics.” This strategy has brought us to where we are.
WASHINGTON — Barack Obama opened his presidency by breaking sharply from George W. Bush’s unpopular administration, but he mostly avoided divisive partisan and ideological stands. He focused instead on fixing the economy, repairing a battered world image and cleaning up government.
“What an opportunity we have to change this country,” the Democrat told his senior staff after his inauguration. “The American people are really counting on us now. Let’s make sure we take advantage of it.”
In the highly scripted first days of his administration, Obama overturned a slew of Bush policies with great fanfare. He largely avoided cultural issues; the exception was reversing one abortion-related policy, a predictable move done in a very low-profile way.

My hands are washed of this mess, I did not vote the guy in…
I’m afraid people have drank a little too much of the Obamaid to see the obvious.
