Barack Obama gave his first interview to an Arab media source. Sounds pretty stupid for an American President to give his first interview not in America but Obama’s got his plan and I don’t understand it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a President so consumed with his legacy so early in his Presidency.
But come on, there’s something really stupid about giving your first interview and start denigrating America. I mean, hoe goes on Al Arabiya and essentially blames America first. That’s when it hit me. Obama believes what he said during the campaign. And that scares me. I thought he was just throwing red meat to his base. But it’s worse than that. He really does believe he can reshape the world to his will.
Obama actually believes America’s at fault for the problems in the Middle East.
Obama actually believes it’s George W. Bush’s fault.
And now Obama’s sending letters to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and establishing talks with Captain Crazy over there. And what does Obama get for reaching out:
US President Barack Obama’s offer to talk to Iran shows that America’s policy of “domination” has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.
“This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed,” Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
“Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change,” he added.
After nearly three decades of severed ties, Obama said shortly after taking office this month that he is willing to extend a diplomatic hand to Tehran if the Islamic republic is ready to “unclench its fist”.
In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a fresh tirade against the United States, demanding an apology for its “crimes” against Iran and saying he expected “deep and fundamental” change from Obama.
Iranian politicians frequently refer to the US administration as the “global arrogance”, “domineering power” and “Great Satan”.
This reminds me of the story about the scorpion and the frog where the scorpion asks a frog to carry him across a river. The frog is afraid of being stung, but the scorpion reassures him that if it stung the frog, the frog would sink and the scorpion would drown as well. The frog agrees but about halfway across the scorpion stings him, killing the two of them. When asked why, the scorpion explains, “I’m a scorpion; it’s my nature.”
So, note to Obama, the world is full of scorpions. And they’re not all in America.

I have often wondered if he is related somehow to Dennis Kucinich? At least he spoke with the Arabs and not the mother ship (yet).

One of the saddest of many sad things about the 2008 presidential election campaign was that both conservatives and liberals would say “We don’t know who Barack Obama is.” I would answer “Yes, you do. Just listen to him. He is telling you exactly who he is and what he will do.” And now he is doing it. My great and only hope now is that President Obama will throw out some of his own ideology(he has discarded old friends, what about old ideas?) if he realizes it that the American people won’t tolerate a blame-America-first appeasing proabortion socialist as their president. It’s up to us to make it clear to him as well as to Congress how we feel. We have the right: he is our president. Letters, phone calls, e-mails, and the 2010 elections come to mind. Donations to conservative causes and candidates may also be useful. It may not be much, but we must not think that the cause is lost. It’s not. Yet. Keep fighting the good fight and thanks for all you are doing. Got to go, I’ve got to email some more senators about the so-called stimulus package. Kit
BTW and OTS Has anyone heard about FOCA? That was supposed to be first on the agenda. Is he backing down on that? Maybe the prayers and the e-mails are working. Let’s keep them coming.

And to give credit where credit is due, maybe the Right to Life March helped change his heart. My admiration and gratitude go to all who participated. Kit

Some of us didn’t drink the Kool-Aid and we’re not about to start. Matthew, I thank God every day you’re here blogging away. Sometimes you make me laugh hysterically and I’m quick to chime back in. Then there are times that it’s a bit more somber and sober, as it has been the past few days. It seems like there is a new scandal and more hypocrisy every single day.
All I can say is – I’m rejoicing that Michael Steele is now head of the RNC. Hopefully he can turn the Party back around and we can bring rationalism and intelligence back to the table. Too much to ask?
I don’t understand Obama and his mentality. It’s too far gone and thinking without rationalism is just too much effort and depressing.

“…but Obama’s got his plan and I don’t understand it.”
“I don’t understand Obama and his mentality.”
Folks, start by thinking of this as Jimmy Carter’s second term. That at least provides a reference point for the insanity. From there just keep expecting the worst and any surprises will be pleasant ones.

Ditto Subvet. Think of the next 4 years as Jimmy Carter on crack. The good news is that it took a Jimmy Carter to get Ronald Reagan.
There are a few good conservative leaders out there, we need to pray for them and be supportive.

Unfortunately, no one listened to the conservatives. Any mention of his Marxist ideas, the media and lefty blogger called racism. Some conservatives believed he’d govern from the center. Why they would think that is anyone’s guess. You can tell a man’s character by the company he keeps…he kept company with genuine racists, thugs, domestic terrorists, Communists etc…even Catholics voted for him thinking only of “social justice” issues not even thinking that true social justice begins with the innocent baby in the womb.Tis man is evil, look at his eyes, he has no soul. We do need to keep praying for our country. Saying the prayer to saint Michael is a good beginning.

Well, let’s put this into perspective again: what administration exactly HAS worked regarding the middle east in say, the last 30 years? We’ve had Carter’s Iranian hostage crisis, Reagan evacuating Beirut after the Marines were blown up, then selling arms to the country who sponsored it (psst! Iran), Clinton dealing with WTC bombing #1, the US Cole, Afghanistan overrun by the Taliban, and finally, Bush Jr in WTC 2, the worst terrorist attack on American soil.
The only president that seemed to have things in order was apparently Bush Sr, who had no terrorist action on his watch that I’m aware of, and decisively dealt with Saddam when he invated Kuwait; an extreme victory pretty much on everyone’s account (unless you fault him for not reaching Baghdad, which he really should have).
I think Bush Sr, having worked in the CIA and having very close relationships with Mohammedan investors (i.e. the Saudis) helped him formulate a knowledgeble game plan and anticipate how to react when necessary. He is one of my least favorite presidents, but on this subject I give him high marks.
So, if Obama thinks his sheer will and personality will resolve the problems of the middle east jsut because he has a “fresh view”, he will go the way of the 4 abovementioned presidents before him. Guess we have to wait and see.

Everyone’s been calling him a brilliant guy for so long, let’s see if he can figure out the cause and effect here –
Step 1: President Obama offers to reach out diplomatically to Iran
Step 2: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad demands an apology from America for its “crimes against Iran”
Step 3: Arab news agencies talk about the West becoming passive (in other words, losing faith in itself)
In some ways, Mr. Elham is absolutely correct – we’ve decided that it’s too much trouble to have any gumption about what’s good in America, because we are too fretful about what’s bad. A good hunk of the West has decided to throw itself out with the bathwater, while feeling good about itself for doing it. Those who will suffer deadly consequences as a result aren’t going to be comforted.
