You think this is a great looking church from the outside. Go on in. Tell ’em CMR sent ya’.
The Parish Church of Marie Treu, in Vienna, Austria, was consecrated in 1719, completed in 1753 and had its first mass in 1796, as per Wikipedia. This gigapixel photo is fantastic!

A nice piece of historical architecture. I prefer my Churches to look like people of the here a now built them.

Here and now sucks, because the 20th century did away with the transcendental of Beauty. When I’ve been in this church, I’m moved to worship. When I’m in modern churches, I’m moved to…leave. Or have a potluck and some shuffleboard.

Magnificent church. The only thing out of place thing is that big, green, fabric covered “people’s altar” in the middle of the floor. You would think they could find something that didn’t look so out of place or better yet, get rid of it altogether.

Truly a work of devotion. I hope someone will do a video of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception here in DC.
