According to the Washington Post, President Obama is about to announce his decision to lift restrictions on federal funding of human embryonic stem cell research.
So I’m just trying to pin down the logic here.
Even though research has shown that adult stem cells can be transformed into essentially the same thing as embryonic stem cells we’re still going to destroy embryos in order to get their stem cells.
Adult stem cells can be obtained from umbilical cords, from placenta, and from amniotic fluid. And adult stem cells also have a proven track-record of actually helping people.
And we know that embryonic stem cells thus far have proven to be not beneficial whatsoever.
But counter intuitively, it’s exactly the lack of success of embryonic stem cells that inspires Obama to pour more money into it.
Now, on the other hand, if there had been some successes with embryonic stem cells that too would be another reason to pour more money into it.
So since the success of ESC research has obviously no bearing on whether or not to fund it, the reason for it must be elsewhere. See, Obama knows ESC is a loser political issue for Republicans and Obama knows it. Polls indicate that the public supports stem cell research. Whether that’s because the people don’t understand the difference between ESC and adult stem cells is beside the point politically.
Democrats want to be on the side of helping sick people and say Republicans are against it because they’re anti-science.
Whether or not it does one person the least amount of good, it’s worth it for Obama to spend taxpayer money on it because it buys him an issue to use as a cudgel against conservatives.
It’s all politics. And sometimes politics has a body count.

Well, you can also blame that wolf in a red dress, Nancy Reagan for this move as well. She’s been the “face to the cause” for about 10 years and never misses an opportunity to plug it.
“Just say No”…to hypocrisy.

And we should. Of course, since she has no real power or influence right now, she’s not on the radar, per se. Obama, on the other hand, is doing all he can to kill people and split the Church.

I haven’t seen any polling on Catholics and ESC but I’d imagine it would be pretty depressing.

It may be politics, but it is still EVIL politics.

Iranaeus – split the church? I had know idea this was any sort of issue any more than abortion itself. The church’s stance is clear on the matter and it is not going to change, since it IS murder. Any “split” is between Catholics and dissenters, who will dissent regardless of who proposes it.

Because, of course, if there are no benefits from esc technology, it’s because not enough work is being done. And that must be because the evil former administration put bans in place. Mr. Obama’s is not being irrational, really.
Bt it is evil, anyhow, because it is unwarranted. And human beings become crops.

They do it because it’s fun. That’s the only reason I can think of. Destroying embryos with public money to no effect must just be a blast to do.
That’s why I call it “Recreational Embryo-Destructive Stem Cell Research” or REDSCR.
I mean, it just can’t be in order to desensitize people to the personhood of the unborn, could it?

You might say “The devl is in the details” here. But I mean literally.
The ‘prince of this world’ is behind this for it is demonic. But most souls do not have a supernatural outlook and cannot see it at all.

Ideology, more that just mere politics, trumps all that Obama does. This issue is no different. I’m just waiting for the drug of Kool-aid to wear off of the more reasonable Obama voters. Then maybe we can do something to stop this monster, who feels the need to kill and destroy all in his path, before it is too late.

You can get patents for cures from embryonic stem cells but you can’t get patents for cures from adult stem cell cures. Adult stem cells belong to the adult; embryonic stem cells are slaves that can be bought and sold. It’s money, folks!

It’s really quite simple.
Obama = DEATH
Embryonic stem cells not only kill one citizen at the outset of the process, but the recipient victim is also highly likely to contract a cancer that is worse than whatever condition they were hoping to treat.
Two dead bodies from one process.
Two-for-one death is the one area where the Obama and it’s death loving gang are demonstrating some degree of understanding and efficiency.
