ANI is reporting that Portia De Rossi made a video where she pretends to earnestly issue an apology for marrying Ellen DeGeneres in a video spoof. In the video she says:
“When I got married, all I was thinking about was my own joy at committing to love my partner for the rest of my life. I didn’t think about all the people I was hurting by getting married. That was selfish. So I want to apologise to all those people whose lives have been affected by me getting married…Paid for by married gay people who are sorry and The National Coalition of Bonobo Chimps.”
Sweet, right? For a moment let’s just consider the bravery of this woman. Backed only by the support of the press, the show business industry, and the state government this woman bravely agreed with everyone she knows by mocking mostly Christians and Mormons who support traditional marriage.
And you know what really burns me up? I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that this little video is just a cynical ploy to garner media attention just because her now show “Better off Ted” premiered last week to low ratings. How could you see a connection between this incredibly brave video and her need for media attention to spike interest in her failing television show? How could you think she would use something as important as her “marriage” to further her career? No, you’re thinking of Anne Heche.

Oh man, that sucks. I had no idea who she was, so I looked her up. And she is the one from Arrested Development. She was awesome in that show. I need to extend my Never-Read-Interviews-Of-My-Favorite-Musicians Rule (NRIOMFMR) to actors too. It just spoils everything.

See, the thing they don’t get is I don’t give a crap what they do in their bedrooms. I don’t care if they go off, have some sort of ceremony in the Bahamas, and give each other power of attorney. Do whatever you please.
What I *DO*, have a problem with, Ms. DiRossi, is the notion that I am not free to believe or vote according to those beliefs because *you* choose to live your life in a way that’s contrary to cultural norms, and because my beliefs “offend” you. I have a problem that people like you have no qualms about destroying MY First Amendment rights, and engaging in nothing short of mob tactics to harass and take the jobs and livelihoods the people who DO support an institution proven most beneficial to the raising of children and the stability of society.
THAT’S what’s offensive. So perhaps if the gay-rights movement engaged in dialogue based on reason and logic rather than emotion over using judicial activism to oppress those who disagree with your lifestyle choices, then it wouldn’t be such a big problem.

Something doesn’t have to be catastrophic or fatal for one to oppose it. I’m against adding minuscule amounts of lead to drinking water even if it’s below safe EPA levels and it makes the lead lobby happy.
To continue the analogy, the wellspring of the family has already been poisoned by divorce, sexual “liberation,” birth control, and abortion. I don’t need to add gay marriage to the list of pollutants, thanks very much.

One of Iron Chef’s did something even sicker with her “partner.”
She had one of her eggs fertilized and implanted in her partner and the partner did the same for Iron Chef Kate.
I wouldn’t care so much, however exchanging scrambled eggs is pretty icky, if they’d just done it and kept it to themselves. The rest of us do not want/need a press release to catalog the latest affront to God and nature.

I just stop watching TV all together.
