Check out this video from UPI. In it they talk about increased interest in Catholicism, conversions, and Mass attendance.
They characterize it as a recovery from the sex abuse scandal which is probably not entirely inaccurate. They also try to provide reasons other than spiritual for the interest, that while probably not telling the whole story, certainly contribute. In it the reporter confuses confirmations with conversions and for my part I would have preferred something more than anecdotal evidence of an uptick, but I will take what I can get.
I find it interesting in that it notices a trend toward religion and does not ridicule it. Watch it and let me know your thoughts.

While viewing the Catholicism Comeback” video, at the bottom of the screen there were Google Ads for “Tampa Sex Crimes Lawyer”, “Free Sex Offender Database Search” and ” Is My Husband Gay” ! A bit disconcerting especially when the video mentions the sex abuse scandal.

Along the lines of religious topics in the secular press, Canadian mag MacCleans just wrote an article on the Virgin Mary in their April edition – http://www2.macleans.ca/tag/virgin-mary/
Bit of a secular lean, but with end note “For faithful and skeptic alike, Mother Mary always comes in times of trouble.”
I think I’ll take what I can get as well!

On a side note re: the Google Ads, I had the same problem. The pro-life posts had abortuary ads pop up alongside it. So, I ended up removing the ads altogether.

“Is my husband gay?”
Well, in a handful of states, that may well be the case.
Sigh. God help us.

Some people turn to God when they see the light, others when they feel the heat.
