I’m pretty sure my husband hears the same thing. If your wife does get mad, it’s because you actually confessed to this horrible male flaw publically, and it embarasses her. I often like to think of how God started with the most simple creations and went to the most complex- Females! 🙂
We’re tough sometimes… but I laughed; so, thank you, because it’s been a long day! At the very least, you made another man’s wife smile! 🙂
My youngest nephew used to babble like this late in the evening, along with lifting an eyebrow and occasionally gesturing. We joked that he was explaining the Meaning of the Universe, but like most adults, we had lost our ability to comprehend it.

You are a much more courageous man than I, Patrick. I could never get away with such a remark!
Thanks for the link!

I calculate that there is only a 38% chance that my wife will actually see this post.
If she does I will claim I was completely misunderstood. What I meant to say was that when she complains, I think she is just as cute as this baby!

Oh, yeah, that’ll work. I’d have dinner for two (with real napkins) and a Broadway show in my back pocket, just in case.

That is hysterical. When I read the title of this post, I immediately thought of the teacher/all adults in the Peanuts cartoons. This is much cuter.

Hmmm… hands folded… praying in tongues perhaps? Maybe she is interceding for you! 😉

Hi honey. Interesting… See I actually do read your blog. I like David L.’s suggestion of the dinner and Broadway tickets!

David Alexander:
Would that be along the lines of Obama’s “date night??????”
$250K at taxpayer expense? Eh, who’s counting anyway…

The kids got a vocation. Clearly speaking in tongues……

My wife doesn't sound nearly that pleasant, but definitely the same language.

This is exactly what my 20 month old does, but with a bit more inflection and more hand gestures.
