This is truly sick. I don’t know why but the Left absolutely hates Sarah Palin. I don’t get why but they do. And David Letterman is clearly a sexist liberal jerk. On last night’s show, Letterman said Sarah looked like a “slutty flight attendant” and then mocked Bristol Palin in even worse fashion.
And nothing will be done about this. Could you imagine if similarly outlandish things had been said about Obama and his family. I personally haven’t watched Letterman in years and don’t intend to ever watch him again.
Hot Air and Conservatives 4 Palin have more.

Oh… by the way… you should see this video… GREAT defense of the Palin's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkxsodBhwkc&feature=player_embedded

Matthew Todd and Anon at 2:22 have it right; your imaginary girlfriend can take a joke and has a sense of humor. Maybe you should look into this. Oh, and BTW, it is NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN between you and Sarah. Never going to happen. You should get that in your brain once and for all.

Anon 3:17 and anyone else who actually thought this was funny or even "okay",
Get over yourself. The Palins didn't think it was funny, either. The quotes below were taken from Redstate.com. Cross-check if you wish.
And somehow, I don't see the humor in a perverted old man talking about someone's daughter getting raped in front of an audience by a popular celebrity.
You lefties give yourselves the rep of being sick and twisted. Congrats.
Any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too.” – Todd Palin
“Concerning Letterman’s comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he’d ever dare make such comments about anyone else’s daughter): ‘Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands – that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone’s daughter, contribute to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.’”
– Governor Sarah Palin

Letterman is a tool.I saw the best quote about him the other day that I can't remember… speaking of, have you seen this website, by the way? http://www.quotecatholic.com/

After watching those videos, one has to wonder about the background story which made Letterman so bitter. Did Palin cancel on him at the last minute like McCain did? Whatever the reason, it is clear Letterman's grudge against Palin is even bigger than the blog-host's FOR her.
Regardless of his personal issues or political leanings, Letterman's comments were over-the-line and beyond distasteful.
Anon@5:25 I disagree. Letterman is what my kids call a P-O-G (Pervy Old Guy).

I've never watched Letterman — obviously haven't missed a thing! He's a jackass, and even small clips demonstrate his "unfunniness"… Yeah, the jokes are crummy, but unfortunately that's what passes for "Humour" these days. Sad, really.
June 11, 2009 at 7:15 pm
Wait,
Where in the world did we decide that Letterman was making rape jokes about the 14 year old? Did I miss that in the videos, or are some here swallowing the Palin-political-machine koolaid, and playing into the desperate need for attention? It seemed obvious to me that his comments were aimed at the Bristol, who is both of legal age, and has demonstrated proficiency at getting pregnant.
I honestly dislike Sarah Palin, and hope that a better candidate emerges soon, or that Jindal drops his current speech writers and hires GOP professionals.

T-Bone:
Now you're the one who is joking, right? In what universe is it wrong to make a despicable joke about "knocking up" a 14-year-old girl, but perfectly OK to make the same joke about her 18-year-old sister, who is still a teenager herself? One who used poor judgement by engaging in sexual activity but then took personal responsibility for her actions by having her child–and caring for him–at great personal cost (and political cost to her mother?)
This isn't a discussion about Sarah Palin or the future of the GOP. This is a question about David Letterman's disgusting attempt at humor, insufficient and insincere apology, and the people who make excuses for him.
In short, there aren't any excuses for him.
June 11, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Oh no, the joke isn't good in any universe. If one is going to be outraged, however, at least defend the honor of the right person.
But let's be honest, Letterman isn't the worst specimen of the disgusting humor category. I believe Ann Coulter encouraged us to "rape" the Earth. And real stand-up comedy make Letterman look tame (Bob Sagat, anyone?).
Any use of rape terminology is awful and disgusting within itself. We get up in arms when it makes reference to a 14 year old. Perhaps we should do so *anytime* rape terminology is used, since its horrors would be such for anyone despite their age.

Letterman hasn't been funny for a long time. And for the record, in OUR country, the adult Palins would be considered public figures and Bristol would be considered a "vortex" public figure because of her stupid (ex?) boyfriend's attempts to get on TV. But the little girl that Letterman joked about isn't a public figure under the accepted definition.
BTW, telling other people to "lighten up" or "Get a sense of humor" – those are adolescent expressions. Adolescents aren't mature enough to consider other people's views or feelings.

"BTW, telling other people to "lighten up" or "Get a sense of humor" – those are adolescent expressions. Adolescents aren't mature enough to consider other people's views or feelings."
This is what I often have to tell my fellow conservatives, when they something that offends a "liberal" friend. Claiming authority to dictate what is "humorous" is just as much a power-issue (which is at the root of most adolescent rebellions) as it is just rude.
