I have to admit, as a proud citizen of the grand state of Indiana, BMV-style healthcare isn't so bad.
Since the advent of Mitch Daniels, late fees are gone, we can do most routine renewals on line, and when you HAVE to show up in person they can get you in and out in under 10 minutes—–
Hmmm…. maybe government-run healthcare wouldn't be so bad if we put Mitch Daniels in charge of organizing. (Of course, he prefers HSAs…..)

It depends where you live. The DMV in my small town is clean, friendly, and efficient.
I also think the post office gets a bad rap. I can't think of a single letter I mailed in my life which didn't get where it was supposed to go.
I can think of one package sent to me which didn't arrive…in my entire life.
This doesn't mean that I think government can do health care. It will definitely be much more like the old Baltimore DMV that I shudder to remember. Also, they would get to say what health care is and how much of it I get. No, I don't go for it.

I guess they can't say "Going to the doctor, Medicare style." because insurance companies can't compete with that. That would be unfair.
They also can't say "Going to the doctor, senator style.", "Going to the doctor, congressman style.", or "Going to the doctor, soldier style.".

WellPoint, the nation's largest health insurer based on enrollment, announced it is cutting its employees health benefits and raising its premiums and deductibles because of the economy.
I thought we were allowed to make our own healthcare choices in magical world of private healthcare. The article doesn't say that the employees voted to cut their own bennies.
I wonder if the CEO will get a Christmas bonus for this bold move…

Lame. The original was actually funny. What does denying healthcare to the poor have to do with Catholicism again? I forget. . .
