If you are not yet aware of Pomplamoose, fix that. Thanks to Mark Shea for the introduction.
Seriously, watch them all.

Their version of Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" is great!

Sorry, the pop-girlish-undersupported-contrived-anti-aesthetic is tiresome.
Try Dianne Reeves.

It's not bad, but the singer sounds like just about every other alterna-girl performer these days.

Freakin' awesome chord progressions on All the Single Ladies and Nature Boy! I have to take issue with September, however. It's just not the same without Tower of Power:-). Good try, but…um….not quite.
Thank you, THANK YOU! I will definitely be listening.
And as for jazz vocalists, my votes go for Shirley Horn, Ella, Sarah, or Cassandra Wilson (along with many, many others:-).

Yeah David, it doesn't do much for me either and reminds me too much of Lili von Shtupp singing, "I'm so tired" from Blazing Saddles

My bad. Tower of Power=Chicago, EWF=EWF
