Womens’ bodies are crazy. I don’t know why God made them so but He did. Women’s bodies are all weird and things are connected in ways most men can’t imagine.
My wife had curly hair. Like really curly. When she became pregnant with our first child she announced while we were both getting ready for work one morning that she believed the pregnancy was making her hair straight. I, being the gracious sensitive husband I am, immediately scoffed that she was the craziest person outside the asylum. I told her definitively that her pregnancy and her hair were not connected at all.
But my wife laughed and called me crazy. Well, sure enough my wife’s hair was straight by the time she gave birth.
Hey, what can I say? I’m not a scientist. I didn’t know. But after seeing the facts I admitted I was wrong because I’m good like that.
But the pro-choice industry and the media in American are clearly better than I am at refuting facts. No matter how much evidence is amassed pointing to a link between abortion and breast cancer they simply refuse to see it.
It’s saying something when there’s more freedom and openness to truth in China than America. CNA reports:
Chinese researchers claim to have found a 17 percent increased breast cancer risk among women who have had induced abortions.
Peng Xing and other researchers in the Department of Oncology at the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University enrolled in their study 1,417 patients diagnosed with breast cancer and 1,587 women without a prior breast cancer.
The researchers’ findings indicated that induced abortion increased a woman’s risk of breast cancer by a “statistically significant” rate of 17 percent.
According to the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer (CABC), U.S. researchers have said that Chinese studies on a link between abortion and breast cancer exclude “report bias” because abortion isn’t stigmatized in China and Chinese women are considered reliable reporters for their abortions.
The CABC said a Turkish study published earlier this year reported a 66 percent increased breast cancer risk among women who have had abortions
The thing is that America overreacts to everything. Remember the whole silicone scare in breast implants? Remember the pesticide scare? How many people are freaked out about global warming when it hasn’t gotten any warmer in a decade?
The media plays up anything and everything to scare us but no media attention is given to the link between abortion and breast cancer despite several studies showing it.
If the media were fair we should see stories about how the federal government intends to fund a known carcinogen by funding abortion in the healthcare legislation. And they’d be detailing how dependent the Democratic Party is on Big Abortion for campaign funds. Or detailing how the party is blinded to the truth of science by ideology.
But I guess that’s what the blogosphere is for. We don’t have to wait for the media anymore. So let’s all do our job and start beating the drum on this information. Let’s take on the anti-science left. Not only might it affect Big Abortion but it might save lives.

In this case, a "Made in China" label could turn out to be a good thing.

I am in the same boat with my very curly hair becoming straight with pregnancy. It's not all the way straight yet, but so much more than usual. Woman's bodies are quite connected and complicated that.

uhm, the hair thing. You should have asked me! the same thing happened to me : ) Just tell the wife it will go back to normal eventually. Loved the article. Wish it would get more widespread coverage!

Well, wrap your head around this: any reputable doctor won't recommend hormone replacement to menopausal women, right? Because of the risk of breast and other cancers? Why? Because of the estrogen. The same estrogen that makes up the birth control pill. Yet, the birth control pill is perfectly safe, because women need to be sexually available to men 24/7, that's why.
Oh, but wait… my last mailing from the Susan Komen foundation managed to "slip in" to the long list of things suspected to cause breast cancer. Lo, the long use of the pill is mentioned!
Could this deadly glut of breast cancers finally induce the medical profession to confront reality squarely for the good of women?

I've read reports that fish sex determination is getting wonky due to birth control hormones in the streams/lakes water. Why aren't environmentalists all over that like white on rice?
My kids bought yogurt w/out pink lids. Susan B. can kiss our butts. 😉 We won't buy anything if we see that money gets funneled to her organization.

With all the toxins and chemicals the people of the PRC are exposed to, I'm surprised the lot doesn't have cancer of some kind at this stage of the game. The abortion->breast cancer is of course not news. This has been linked for 2 decades now.

I'm curious about your following statement: "How many people are freaked out about global warming when it hasn't gotten any warmer in a decade?". Working in an an atmospheric research lab that studies exactly this, I can tell you with certainty that average temperatures have indeed gotten warmer over the last decade. Do you believe that global warming is made up or not that serious? Thanks, CWK

CWK,
A DECADE does not make global warming. When you've got legitimate data that covers hundreds, if not thousands of years, maybe we can talk.
Thanks CMR for showcasing this topic on breast cancer and abortion.

You betray your ignorance with that comment Charlotte. And you didn't read what I asked. Matthew stated that it hasn't warmed in the last decade. This is what I'm referring to. And we do have climate data that goes back thousands of years from various sources including ice cores The article rightfully points out how the left ignores scientific data when it contradicts their ideology yet you do the same when you dismiss the scientific data that does indeed tell us that the atmosphere is warming. Your comment is hypocritical.

Temperatures have decreased since 1998.

Anonymous,
You've been reading too many Michael Crighton novels. Average global temperatures have increased. This is well known and easily found. My degree is in climatology. I have worked in an atmospheric research lab for the last 15 years. If you have something to cite, then please do so, otherwise your argument is pretty empty.

Don't you DARE call anyone here ignorant. The vast numbers of scientists who are being ignored or silenced because they don't agree with your seemingly unbiased "science" of climatology is obscene. Much like the medical community, you all roll over and say "baaaa" so as to be accepted within your field. Say something different for once – actually posit the idea that no one knows for sure how old ice cores are, for example. Or admit that there is no REAL proof – say like thermometers – going back hundreds or thousands of years. Call me a simpleton, but the earth has been warming and cooling as long as it's been here. That's common sense.
November 17, 2009 at 2:23 pm
You don't even present any real arguments Charlotte. You call us frauds yet display no basic understanding of climate processes. No one is being silenced. If you worked in atmospheric research, you would see the vigorous debate and disagreements. Dr. William Gray is a well known scientist that does not subscribe to human induced global warming. He holds a minority opinion, but he is not silenced. Look him up. I don't know what vast number of scientists you are talking about, but then again you present no evidence of this so called conspiracy. Yes, the earth warms and cools naturally, but the corroboration of data concerning the increase in global mean surface temperatures over the last 150 or so years leaves little question that it is human caused. We produce vast amounts of carbon. Carbon traps heat. Carbon records can be found in tree rings and ice cores. And yes, we can actually determine the age of ice cores. That isn't a debatable point. You demonstrate and ignorance of these processes by your comments. What's insulting is your idea that we are simply trying to advance some idea for our own gain. We go where the science takes us. We allow pier reviews of all data and vigorous debate. It is desired to get all angles of debate before publishing our findings. I was involved with the IPCC and I know first hand how much debate and argument went into their final report. You don't have to believe anything we find in our studies, but I equate that to being an ostrich with your head in the sand. Your reasoning above is no different than the reasoning of those who deny the humanity of the unborn. Ignore all evidence to advance an ideology. I thought this was a Catholic site, not a right wing one. CWK

I should apologize for my comment about you being ignorant. I'm sure you are not. However you display an ignorance concerning climate processes. This is what I am referring to. I am ignorant in mechanical engineering. I don't comment about it like I am one. You display a cynicism towards those who do these studies that is unfair. Our motives are not nefarious and it is wrong to assume that of us. The reason scientists love what they do is because they don't know what they will find or where the discoveries will lead them. It is approached with an enthusiasm of an unkown adventure. We encourage and require vigorous debate to help flesh out human bias. And in the end we find things that, while may not always be definitive, provide a good idea of what is happening. CWK

Hey climatology genius!

Boy, we're sick of your pompous grandstanding out here in the world of common sense.
