Much has been said about the colossal folly that is the Obama administration’s decision to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) in the New York civilian court system.
One wonders if by the rules of the civilian courts, KSM is entitled to trial by a jury of his peers? In fairness, such a jury should be composed exclusively of those bent on the total destruction of the United States as we know it. No problem there, New York has plenty of Democrats.
If possible, can we arrange for Chuck Schumer to be sequestered for the duration?

Do you mean civilian criminal court? Civil court is a different animal than criminal court. Either way the administration is wrong going to the civilian courts with this.

What happens when KSM's opening declaration is that he was not read his Miranda rights?

Allow me to share what I have written to my congressmen:
Sir:
I am stunned and appalled at the prospect of foreign belligerents being transferred from Guantanamo Bay to our shores, and subsequently tried in American courts.
These are not men who immigrated to the U.S. They are not citizens of this country. They are foreign belligerents. They have planned or participated in crimes against our country. War crimes.
They should be tried under the UCMJ, in military tribunals.
To afford them the protections of our judicial system is to cheapen what it means to be a citizen of this formerly fine and proud country. To imagine them going through mandatory appeals for years on the way to the death penaltyis to make a travesty of justice.
Justice delayed is justice denied, and we have waited too long already.

the suggestion here is that democrats are bent on the total destruction of the united states as we know it. such rhetoric is very unhelpful to civil discourse. i agree with most of the views advertised on this website, but i really feel a sense of dismay about the direction in which this site is moving.
i think that, upon further examination of that comment, as catholics and, i hope, as fair-minded individuals, the writers of this blog will consider removing the above comment.

The evidence [unsustainable debt, government takeover of private business without just compensation to stock holders, an attempt to seize 1/6th of the US GDP with a "healthcare" bill, put the US Government on trial in the name of KSM, etc.]demonstrates that some democrats in the current Administration are indeed bent on the destruction of the US as we know it. Thankfully, there are sites like this willing to say so.
