Wow. I knew Planned Parenthood was against the right to life but wow. Now they’re even for the right to kill people outside the womb. Patterico writes:
Planned Parenthood Argues for the “Right” Not to Tell Your Sex Partner You Have HIV
It’s all part of a larger “right to sexual pleasure” — no doubt tucked away in one of those penumbras that keep popping up when leftist judges scrutinize the Constitution.
In a guide for young people published by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the organization says it opposes laws that make it a crime for people not to tell sexual partners they have HIV. The IPPF’s “Healthy, Happy and Hot” guide also tells young people who have the virus that they have a right to “fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives.”
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.

And our tax dollars are subsidizing this; lovely.

Girl Scouts is part of this too.

I know this is old news and you might have already had something like this when it was out in March, but it shouldn't come as any surprise.

When these "liberal judges scrutinize the Constitution" must mean screwtinize. The rest of us should . . . how do I say this . . . contracept.

Gag. The right to sexual pleasure? Where does it end? Doesn't this open up the door to legalizing rape? Because, you know, the rapist has the right to sexual pleasure. Concealing an STD is a form of rape, anyway. You can't really consent if you don't have the relevant information (that's the whole point of sunshine laws and consumer regulations). My gosh, what a short-sighted philosophy.

Not everything that is wrong should necessarily be criminalized. Be careful where you start asking the governmental justice system to get involved.

PPF is just taking the example of the government's "Don't ask, don't tell?"

Calif gay marriage ban repeal falls short
By The Associated Press
Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:13 a.m.
SAN FRANCISCO — Gay rights activists say they have failed to qualify a measure that would repeal California's same-sex marriage ban for the November ballot.
Restore Equality 2010 chairman Sean Bohac says the volunteer-run group fell short of gathering the nearly 695,000 signatures needed to put the initiative before voters. Monday was the deadline for submitting the signatures to the Secretary of State's Office.
Bohac says Restore Equality's failed effort was undermined by the decision of more established gay rights groups not to participate in the campaign.
He says same-sex marriage supporters now are turning their attention to trying to repeal Proposition 8 in 2012.
A lawsuit to overturn Prop. 8 also is pending before a federal trial judge.

The Pope is vilified because he points out that so-called safe sex isn't safe, that condoms in Africa have contributed to the high HiV infection rate, that abstinence is best. Because he makes these points, he is blamed for causing high rates of infection.
Planned Parenthood tells HiV+ people to not disclose their infection to any potential partners (and go ahead and sleep around all you want), and will most likely be heralded as being forward-thinking.
Ugh.

I recommend studying that IPPF brochure because is wasn't meant for widespread distribution and is thus, a no-spin look into PP from the horse's mouth. You know how PP says that the right to choose is nobody's business but her, her family and her doctor? Well, as it turns out, it ain't the family's business either. We've always known that of course, but on pg 18 of the pdf, it's right there in black and white:
You should find out whether there any centres near to you where you can go without needing the permission of your parents or guardians. You should also make sure that you can trust the staff not to tell anyone you were there or why.

Anon-
this isn't just wrong, it's possibly deadly. Same way I want abortion illegal, I want THIS form of killing people to make your life easier illegal, too!

So, no rights for the other "partner" is fair, huh?

This does not surprise me at all. I have been (slowly) reading a book called "Beyond Gay," written by a non-active homosexual who is Catholic and supports/defends the Catholic Church's teachings on homosexuality. He explains that during the AIDS crisis, there were many men who willingly had sex with people who they knew or suspected of being HIV+ because they felt to NOT have sex and express their sexuality was dehumanizing. The author even quoted one man as saying that he would rather be dead than supress his sexual longings, etc. So this idea of having the need/right to have sex at all costs has a precedent. I have to wonder if somehow the gay agenda has directly or indirectly influenced Planned Parenthood policies?

As someone at another blog said, when does the right to pleasure trumps another's right to say no?
Think about that and all its myriad implications.
Scary, scary stuff.

Absolutely. Abortion, depraved sexual acts, all come under the incoherent doctrine of consent. Basically, as long as everyone agrees to it, it isn't evil (and if you are incapable of voicing consent like an unborn child, yours is an abstention). But of course it is baloney in real life. PP has been caught not contatcting the police when a child explicitly gives evidence she is the victim of statutory rape. Consent huh? The irony is that these are people with the same world-view as those who have been stabbing at the Church over abuse. That is, as long as it is not a priest, it's ok. Two words: Roman Polanski

Yet another reason for abstinence. And another case of poetic justice.

If that story is accurate, then truly I must abhor what Planned Parenthood has done here.
