At the Hudson Institute’s Reclaim American Liberty Conference a question was posed to Lt. Col. Allen West, a candidate for Congress in Florida, as to how best to respond to those who will jump through hoops to claim that those Muslim extremists are perverting their religion.
I found this answer amazing.
I don’t think I have ever heard anyone address the question in such a way. Thoughts?

Subvet, I know. I was just being ironic. Think of our security problem if only 10% of U.S. muslims are jihadists.
This situation abounds with ironies. The (formerly) Christian countries are contracepting themselves out of existence in response to the "population explosion" propaganda jihad of the secularists, but this has only made room for and necessitated the presence of the very non- contracepting muslims.
Noteworthy, too, is that these believers in Allah are replacing former Catholic believers in a Supreme Being, and that they are in fact more Catholic in their morals than the people they are replacing. It's pretty amazing.
Certainly it is a judgment on Europe.

2 things;
1. West's best points were that anyone who wishes to understand this NEEDS TO READ "…the KORAN, THE HADITHS AND THE SURA…" If you haven't, it will be impossible for you to argue intelligently either way.

For a simply outstanding text on the issue I recommend Ibn Warraq's, "What the Koran Really Says: Language, Text, and Commentary" (Note: it is quite an academic tome, for something lighter try "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)" by Robert Spencer.
2. West is amazing! Yet, it is pretty near impossible to become a Lt. Col. in today's Army without being extremely intelligent.

But it was only after the Poles arrived that the siege was lifted, and it was the charge of the Polish cavalry that smashed the Turkish line in the battle. It just irritated me that he didn't mention those most responsible for the victory.

If I promoted a straw man, then I apologize. I was attempting to make a serious point about stereotyping.
I would also like to point out that several states in the Islamic world–such as Indonesia–are trying to stamp out violent fundamentalists and moderate the application of Islamic law.
