This is unbelievable. These media types are just so silly-putty headed that you can’t take them seriously. The funniest part is that they don’t know they’re a joke. And this idiot reporter likely doesn’t even realize how lame, insulting and racist her question was.
And major kudos to the man being interviewed for giving the perfect answer.
Check out Newsbusters for the whole story around the coverage of this Tea Party.

Ah Progressives. The true closet racists.

Liberal's message to blacks: Stay on the inner-city vote plantation in exchange for welfare. Don't question us.

I am an American of Asian origin and I was at a Tea Party yesterday. http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2010/04/my-first-tea-party.html (I hope you don't mind the plug.) Anyway, the media is really at a loss when they see minorities and immigrants in these events. They're either too dense to understand that we know the issues and that we love freedom more than handouts. We will not be seduced into relinquishing that to become wards of the state because we have seen what it is to be under a Statist regime. We did not cross the Pacific Ocean to become dependents. But the media might know that so they're just acting as agents of the Socialist government in trying to dissuade people of color from supporting the cause. It reminded me about a movie of the Indians who served during WWII. When asked why they were there, they answered, "This is my country too."

My husband and I and some friends attended a Tea Party as well, our first. There were people from all walks of life there, no hate-speech, no violence, etc. One man from Argentina spoke about how this is the greatest country in the world. There is plenty of disgust, for sure, at wasteful spending, czars,
socialism, etc. But it comes from every-day Americans, not just from one race.
I pray that one day very soon, starting in November, that this country will repent and return to one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all – born and un-born.

I wholly congratulate the report. I wonder how many teabagger parties she had to attend to find the one blackman. Good for her. Persistence pays off once again.
April 16, 2010 at 11:55 pm
Helen, you might want to change your adjective when referring to this segment of society.
April 17, 2010 at 1:17 am
@Helen,
How many have you attended? To believe that this is a White versus Black issue is racist beyond words.
April 17, 2010 at 1:59 am
YOU KNOW WHAT IS REALY RACIST IS WHEN THEY CALL A CATHOLIC CHURCH, 'THE BLACK CATHOLIC CHURCH' AS THEY DO….http://us.mg204.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.partner=sbc&.gx=1&.rand=4qgttdm3jde4i

Helen, I could note that your comment is racist, patronizing, and insulting (it is).
But it's also just pathetically silly and shallow.
Unfortunately, it's also thoroughly typical of the kind of leftist comments that are continually posted on any site favorable to the Tea Party.
It's a sad commentary on the political maturity of much of our country.

Has anyone else noticed that those who are pro-O cannot finish a sentence without name-calling. Is this the legacy of the Clinton administration?
deny, deflect, destroy, etc.
April 17, 2010 at 5:17 pm
elm: Because they, pro-O, have no morals and their rules of engagement come from a psychopath then one need not set any bar of decency for them. http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2010/04/aesop-saul-d-alinsky-fable-rules-of.html
April 18, 2010 at 3:50 am
@ Elm what adjective are you referring to?
Read the byline of the post: —Reporter corners black man at Tea Party. Hilarity ensues.
Besides, I'm black and live in Newark, NJ. So, why are you telling me, my adjective needs to be changes? You're objective needs to be changed. Slavery ended over a century ago.
@ Paul
The entire movement of the teabagger party is "racist, patronizing, and insulting"… why do you expect me to be any different?
What is good for the whites is good for the blacks.
April 18, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Helen,
please, explain what is "racist, patronizing and insulting" in the Tea Parties; then motivate you answer with actual reference to verifiable facts.
Do you think the word "teabagger" could be, perhaps, insulting?
Do you think anybody opposed to Obama's politics is, ipso facto, a racist?
Can you spend some minutes on Google to check how many non-whites are present at the Tea Parties?
April 18, 2010 at 4:05 pm
@ Paolo
Let me get my drink on and I'll address your questions with great insight.
April 19, 2010 at 5:54 am
Get your drink on? These are English words but make no sense.
April 20, 2010 at 1:44 pm
If anyone isn't clear why this is racist…
Just imagine if a reporter had asked a white man at an event of predominantly African-American (or any other racial group) participants if he felt uncomfortable it would have been obviously racist — with undertones of being afraid for his safety.
It's just as racist the other way around.
