not funny @ all. basically stupid. how can oppression be humors?
people should think for themselves, be innovative, be curious, be fascinated with the world and its animals and its people and its cultures, not oppressed. Oppression is wrong. Seriously wrong!
Appologies for the random post but I wanted to point out your advertiser Jerusalem Stone donates 30% of specific proceeds to the Susan G Koman Foundation which in turn has given millions to Planned Parenthood.

They probably don't even know they are supporting abortionists while they try to do a good deed.
I opened up my laptop the other day, and my oldest son had set this Footprints comic as my desktop background. My kids read the Catholic Cartoon blog … uh … religiously?
I don't like the idea of Jesus throwing anyone, even Hans Kung in the ocean. I know Jesus still loves HK and is still sending him graces to lead him to greater humility and to save him at the last.
Sorry, but this one didn't strike me right.

"I don't like the idea of Jesus throwing anyone, even Hans Kung in the ocean…."
He certainly did a fine job in the Gospels throwing about all the tables and chairs, frightening the animals, and terrorizing their sellers. Tossing Hans into the ocean is child's play to Him. Besides Kung is all wet anyways so what difference does it make?
But there are some people who simply think that Jesus, Mr. Rogers and Big Bird are one and the same.
"Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin."
Not only WOULD Jesus throw someone into the sea, but He actually SAYS that it would be a preferable fate than what awaits those who might scandalize the faithful into sin.
There's a pretty big difference between forcibly evicting money-changers/merchants from a temple and throwing someone into the ocean–and then being surprised that they keep finding their way out (alive).
No one is wussifying Jesus by pointing that out. Zeal for God's house did consume Him, but it didn't drive him to attempted murder.

And just who, Helen, is being oppressed by this bit of humor? Poor Hans Kung?

Matthew S. – either that, or her comment is oppressive.
Matthew A. – thanks for the link!

It's just a fact, humors IS oppression. ("are" oppression? "am" oppression, maybe…)
Hmm…

You know what I find oppressive? Sourpusses like Helen, people without a sense of humor, specially at Küng's expense.
That's what I find oppressive.

This is "brilliant work", compared to the usual tripe found on "Catholic Cartoon Blog".

Hilarious, but not PC in every respect… 😉

Susan,
Is this the same Jesus who threw out the money changers? Is this the same Jesus who sorts the chaff and the wheat?
Please don't wussify Jesus.

See Matthew 18:6.
