This is amazing. Nancy Pelosi says she has a duty to pursue public policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ. And how does she think ripping little babies limb from limb would fit into Jesus’ value system.
CNS reports:
At a May 6 Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill, the speaker said: “They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”
“And that Word,” Pelosi said, “is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.
I wish I had more time to really dissect this but I’ve got to take my five year old and the two year old to the doctor. (Yay!) So I open it up to you guys to analyze Pelosi’s statement.
One thing I’ll say while the boy brushes his teeth is that it doesn’t seem Nancy Pelosi is much for the separation of church and state, at least according to this statement. In reality I have to believe that this is just a crass attempt to woo the Christian vote. I have to think that because the alternative is too awful – that she thinks that abortion is in line with the values of Jesus Christ.
I have to go. I look forward to seeing what you have to say.

"In him [the Word] was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it" (Jn 1:4-5).
I think that says about it, don't you think?

Whoo! Theocracy when it's convenient!
Too bad she missed out on the commandment "Do not kill." Or when God said "Therefore choose life."

But…don't you know about The Bird?
June 1, 2010 at 4:51 pm
Unfortunately, Ms. Pelosi has no personal relationship with the Word. Pray for her starving soul…

"Fill it in with anything you like"??????
Me thinks she just likes to hear herself speak. Let's look at the word "dissenter" "heretic" "excommunication" or even "Catholic in name only".
Indeed, she is all about the word. Her word.

So forcing someone to buy health insurance in the name of Social Justice is following The Word, but banning abortion is unfairly forcing your beliefs on others. Say what?

Word.
June 1, 2010 at 5:43 pm
Don't be fooled. She's obviously referring to the "gospel" according to Nancy.
June 1, 2010 at 5:49 pm
By the way, she quotes, "The Word became Flesh." When does she think that actually happened? Does she realize it was at the Annunciation and not Christmas?

I'm thinking of the line in Handel's Messiah, only with different words.
And her name shall be called … "Full-of-self", "Far-from-truth", "Child Killing Witch", "The Ever-Lasting Liar", the "Queen of Poop".

Sorry, y'all, if I just desecrated your favorite song.

"I wish I had more time to really dissect this"
*Groan*
"I have to think that because the alternative is too awful – that she thinks that abortion is in line with the values of Jesus Christ."
The fruits of modernity. It's appalling how many people actually believe this to be the case. Another "Catholyc," Mrs Nancy Keenan (president of NARAL) stated that "abortion is the highest expression of our morality." I begin to wonder is these people mistake Moloch for the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob…and Jesus.

Give her credit, when she shovels it she uses both hands.
June 1, 2010 at 7:14 pm
She thinks as the demon asks her to,
she justifies it all with
1. Jesus loves us
2. JEsus honored womyn
Therefore
Jesus would'nt want any womyn to be unjustifully "saddled" (right from the mouth of obamation)with a pregnancy
therefore Jesus supports all acts which unburden womyn unjustly
like, birthcontrol and cleaning a womyn's womb of unwanted tissue
Logical and compassionate, nes pa?
this unHoly logic is internally consistent
hmm, I have some fruit for you

I did not even bother to watch the tape but simply gleaned the ideas from the comments. Those make much more sense than anything that she can spew out. I do hope her bishop or anyone who can speak officially in the name of the Church will respond and correct her. For me, the word that comes to mind whenever she nvolved is millstone.

"Not all those who cry 'Lord! Lord! will enter the kingdom."

As a politician it's obvious she meant grease is the word, but she caught herself and went Biblical.

When I first saw the title, I thought it referred to the "The Word" segment of The Colbert Report.

That Nancy–she sure is funny, especially when she wants us to believe she has a brain or knows something about the Faith. Haha, thanks for the laughs from California, land of the fruits and nuts.
