There isn’t a problem in the world that liberal don’t think they can’t fix with free condoms. World hunger? Condoms. AIDS? Condoms. Skyrocketing deficit? Condoms.
Now, to be honest I’m not even sure what problem this school district thinks its solving here but a school district in New England will be handing out condoms to little children upon request and is telling teachers to ignore parents who don’t want their children to receive free condoms. Because, you know the teachers know better what’s good for your kids, not parents.
Too many public schools have completely lost interest in actually teaching kids (if they ever had interest) and now consider themselves first and foremost social engineers.
Right Wings News is reporting:
These days public schools don’t pay much attention to the tired old topics of yesteryear — reading, writing, arithmetic, etc. Now the emphasis is on learning fun stuff, like sexual intercourse and disregarding the wishes of parents:
New England school district has approved a measure that will provide free condoms to elementary school students and direct teachers not to comply with parental wishes to the contrary.
The policy, unanimously approved by the Provincetown School Committee does not include an age limit — meaning children of any age ask for — and receive — free condoms.
The committee also directed school leaders not to honor requests from any parent who might object to their child receiving condoms. In other words mommy and daddy — you don’t have a right to prevent your 7-year-old from getting a contraceptive device.
This world has gone mad. When will adults start acting like adults again?
The funny part is that some members of the school board were outraged by this new rule but not for the reason you might think. They were upset that the children had to ask for the condoms and that they weren’t being handed out to everyone.

I don't think anyone is calling you a troll, Julie. You've stated quite clearly why you made the choice to be a stay-at-home mother, a choice I applaud. My wife worked until she was about 7 months pregnant with our first, and hasn't worked outside of the home (which is an extremely demanding job in and of itself) since.
You also state your reasons for being opposed to sending children to public schools (e.g., the original topic of the post, condoms for grade schoolers). That, and other reasons, is why I went from being opposed to homeschooling for my children to being an avid supporter of it.
While there are definitely bad things that happen at some schools, and there are bad teachers that are protected by their unions, there are also really good schools and teachers, and many children have no problems with public education. The most important basis for their success is their parents, not the school.
The trolls are those who take broad generalities and apply them across the board. Some (maybe even many) people abuse NFP and use it as "Catholic Contraception", therefore ALL people who use NFP are contracepting and acting contrary to the immutable teachings of the Church. Equally bad are the allegations that since some public schools are rife with pedophilic ideas (like handing out condoms to 10 year olds whether or not they ask, and ignoring known parental wishes to the contrary), therefore ALL public schools are horrible places filled with constant immoral teaching.
God has entrusted my children to me and my wife, and we will do the best job we can raising them as Catholics. They are learning the Baltimore Catechism along with math and grammar. We're doing it at home because we have both the desire and the ability. I, however, won't judge another person's decision about how they are to raise the children God entrusted to them.
Homeschooling means that the parents must be extremely involved in their child's education. But that doesn't mean that parents who send their children to public school are "bad" or "worse parents" or anything…their level of involvement with their children makes the biggest different, not where they have their children educated (although any location has advantages and disadvantages).
