Putting a mosque at Ground Zero would be as crazy as…say, erecting an memorial at Shanksville, Pennsylvania for the victims of Flight 93 in the shape of an Islamic crescent.
Oh wait.
Never mind. This is the “Crescent of Embrace” memorial in Shanksville.
Hope is lost.

I hate it when the moon is Islamist twice a month! I think we are reading a little too much into this.

Hey, I thought it was a horseshoe for good luck. Guys, my office was two blocks west of the White House on that day. That plane most likely would have landed on my desk. You won't see ME get bent out of shape over this.

Kenny. Friend, you are the simplest of tools.
This is the most moronic thing I've ever seen. Maybe ever. Islamic terrorists attack and kill us and get their symbol embedded at the scene of the crime?
The Muslim world is laughing at the sheer lunacy of the West as it madly implodes from within.

Blackrep:
I think that could be directed at me, too. Tell me, Mr Defender of the Faith, where were you when all hell broke loose?
August 24, 2010 at 2:40 am
Lol…you just can't make this stuff up. Really.
August 24, 2010 at 2:45 am
You are so right, Mr. Alexander. My attack on Kenny was completely unjust. In reparation and commemoration of this tragic event I will erect a monument to my unprovoked assault. My architectural design of this monument will be in the shape of a lever, or a wedge, the simplest of tools. I will call it "The Embrace of Blackrep."
Ready the builders! Kenny must be vindicated.
P.S. You are SO BRAVE for being vaingloriously and geographically close to the actual victims of the Pentagon attack.

Ouch. My jaw just dropped so far it hurt. Really? This is real? God help us all.
August 24, 2010 at 3:16 am
Is this monument idiotic? Yes. Will working oneself up in a froth change anything about it? No. Energy could be better spent elsewhere.
As for being a simple tool, I will take that as a compliment. Surely you wouldn't be implying otherwise with a banner on the left side of the page with a picture of the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady.
BTW, we usually refer to a wedge and a lever (along with a pulley and an inclined plane) as simple MACHINES. Please see a freshman physics book.

Blackrep, your personal attacks on others here is out of line. Why don't you go take a cold shower, get a good night's sleep and come back when you can better handle disagreement?
August 24, 2010 at 6:21 am
I second Ranting Catholic Mom's sentiment. Does Blackrep think that there should be a monument erected for the Japanese at Pearl Harbor? If not, then the same principles that were applied then – common sense and sensitivity – should be applied today, as it was around the days of WWII. It is quite ironic how the ideology of the Left that is so "tolerant" and "open-minded" to Christians, is being so tolerant and open-minded to Muslims. When Christians can build a Church in Mecca and Muslims start showing open-mindedness and tolerance of other religions then the debate can begin about openness and tolerance to Muslims.

This isn't even about tolerance, when it boils itself down…Everyone has the freedom of religion (Note: I did NOT use the term "worship"), and everyone should have the freedom to erect places to practice said religion. Muslims should be free to build Mosques. However, out of respect for EVERYONE they should build those Mosques where they won't have such controversial beginnings. Isn't consideration a two-way street?

I don't like what BlkRep said to Kenny either. But for the rest, I tend to feel the same. The way this cow dung is framed to qualify as freedom of religion is more twisted than a pretzel. They urinate on our feet then tell us that it is raining and have the media report it as such. And we let them. I guess we have no choice because they have their gangsters in the highest offices of our land who protect them and make laws in the same way i.e. piss then call it rain. It is just one bad ars mistake America. And Democrats side with the Muslims who are the victims in all this. This is FUBAR! I am not for persecuting them but neither am I for letting them erect their trophies and carve out their symbols in the fields of the victims blood. Perhaps we need more frothing in the mouth because without emotion, there is no action.

The best way to honour the dead is to pray for them. If anything is built, a simple garden with a stone listing names is all that is needed. It's humble and honest; tangible for those who need something like that.
