Well, for all those who said it was just a slip of the tongue last time or that his speechwriters were to blame, Obama just made sure you knew that he meant it the first time. Yup. President Obama just omitted God again from the Declaration of Independence.
As Weasel Zippers said, “No denying it now.”
But while I take notice of what he doesn’t say, what he does say irks me a bit too. Check it out.
CNS reports:
Just seven days after he sparked controversy by omitting the word “Creator” when he closely paraphrased the passage from the Declaration of Independence that says all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights,” President Barack Obama again omitted the Creator when speaking about the “inalienable rights” that “everybody is endowed with.”
This time the president was speaking at a Sept. 22 fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, and his reference to “inalienable rights” was not as close a paraphrasing of the Declaration as it had been the week before.
“And what was sustaining us was that sense that, that North Star, that sense that, you know what, if we stay true to our values, if we believe that all people are created equal and everybody is endowed with certain inalienable rights and we’re going to make those words live, and we’re going to give everybody opportunity, everybody a ladder into the middle class, every child able to go as far as their dreams will take them–if we stay true to that, then we’re going to be able to maintain the energy and the focus, the fight, the gumption to get stuff done,” Obama said at the DCCC/DSCC event, according to the transcript posted by the White House.
Kinda’ weird for a practicing Christian like him to make such an error twice, huh? One would almost start thinking he was doing it on purpose.
Once you omit the Creator from a discussion about rights the rights are immediately quite alienable. They become merely common beliefs which can change over time.
But for Obama to say that the Declaration of Independence is there to give everyone “a ladder” into the middle class. That’s a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of rights if you ask me. And from a President that’s pretty scary.

Not to mention, he really doesn't want to provide a ladder, he just wants to plop people into the middle class with hand-outs from taxpayers 🙁 Not very effective and awfully demoralizing! If we honestly believe everyone is created equal, opportunity is there for the taking.

Matthew,
Actually I don't find this example as egregious as the previous one – especially when one watches the video of the previous omission. His face contorts as though the phrase actually sours in his mouth.
I think that his real purpose of leaving out any mention of a Creator this time was to show that he won't be cowed into including it.
And, yep, you're right: For a professor of Constitutional law, he surely has a poor understanding of our founding documents and their meaning.

His omissions are both scary and abominable! He wants people to have equal outcome without earning their way up the ladder, instead of relaying the concept that every person has an equal opportunity, and with working hard each person can work their way up the ladder. He keeps on catering to the irresponsible. I knew it wasn't a slip the first time. He is much too calculated for it to have been an accident.

For such an upstanding "Christian", how many times has he been to church since taking office? TWICE?

Scratch that. They've been SIX times: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/09/19/amid-rumors-about-his-faith-obama-and-first-family-attend-churc/

ER would you take time out for a bit of grammar study instead of trolling!
September 28, 2010 at 1:21 am
This was a REALLY sneaky way to do it. NOW he can claim he was completely paraphrasing it.

Perhaps Obama really is a Unitarian Universalist (UU).
It seems that he's in the UU camp that takes the "inherent" out of the UU Principal (really opinion) of "The inherent dignity and worth of all people".

Archbolds, you must really be getting Early Riser's goat for him to be making such ridiculous comments all the time. Excellent work!

The reason why Bamy is not mentioning the Creator: He's such a humble, self-effacing man! LOL!
September 28, 2010 at 3:30 am
I wonder. Didn't the President say (both times) that we are all "created equal"? Doesn't this in fact, at least imply a Creator? If so, he's not denying God, nor would it be true to say, as some have, that he is avoiding all mention of the Creator.
What is really interesting is that he didn't include the statement that we are "endowed with certain unalienable rights" by our Creator. This is a very important omission, since it does raise the question of where our rights come from.
So the President may not deny God, but he does seem uncomfortable with the idea that our human rights can never be taken away. Makes you wonder which ones he wants to take away and when. . .

Its simple and scary. If you have rights only because President Obama (King George III) says you do, then your rights originate with the King. The King and his government decides what rights you will and wont be granted.
A giant leap backward or just frightening stupidity? Not sure it matters…

"…everybody is endowed with certain inalienable rights and we’re going to make those words live, and we’re going to give everybody opportunity, everybody a ladder into the middle class, every child able to go as far as their dreams will take them"
Well, what he means is "everybody" – except the millions of children who don't have the "opportuntity" to live, or even make it to the "dream" of their birth day…thanks to him.

Be aware that there is a poseur "Early Riser" – my sympathies to the real one.

Giving O the benefit of the doubt (and it is a big doubt) he may just be omitting Creator becuase he does not want to alienate the atheist vote. They are, after all, a big portion of his supporters.

"everybody a ladder into the middle class"
Ahhh… marxism at its finest. Not everyone is climbing up and the middle class doesn't get to climb at all.

When "our Creator" creates all men equal, the sovereign person in the womb is a legal person only given citizenship by the state. Sovereign personhood is created by our Creator and endowed at our conception, as human beings. All Human Beings from conception are people, who, as Nancy Pelosi says in her January '09 speech "we cannot afford these PEOPLE" so they must be aborted. Economic cleansing. Obama cannot tax our posterity until they become citizens at birth and therefore, indebting my great great grandchildren is taxation without representation. Now, The Constitution for the United States of America is being called "political controversy". If a politician is not pro-life, he cannot and does not know our founding priciples. It is his job to know. As we are constituents of him and our sovereign personhood constitutes our nation. It is treason for a U.S. president to omit "Creator" from our founding principles and murder for our president to be promoting the murder of human beings through abortion and embyonic stem cell research. Money was not invented to enable crime or criminals. Taxes are the possession of the taxpayer even as they are administered by the administration. Government in and of itself cannot own anything. You and I, every one of us, owns it all in joint and common tenancy. To prohibit the Person of God from the public square is to assign the public square to atheism which is a contradiction of the Declaration of Independence and the oath our president must take to assume the presidency. To deny one Person civil rights is to deny all Persons civil rights. Jesus Christ, a citizen of the world came as a Person and must be acknowledged as a Person for any American to have sovereign and endowed civil rights.

Taxes belong to the taxpayer even while being administered by the administration. Government in and of itself cannot own anything. The people, in trust and in joint and common tenancy, own all public lands and places, the public square, because, we the people, own and constitute the government through our sovereign personhood, endowed by OUR CREATOR, the SUPREME SOVEREIGN BEING, at our conception as human beings. This is the reason why one cannot and ought not be able to sue the state, although with the obliteration of our constitution, our culture, and common law people have.
Donations, free will offerings and gifts are tax free and belong to the donor even as they are being administered by the Catholic Church by the same principle. Corporate or community guilt is a factor in any lawsuit. Thou shalt not stand idly by while they neighbor’s life is in jeopardy. The common good must be promoted by all members of society. Any settlement in a lawsuit against the Catholic Church is taken from all persons in the community and must apply equally. The Catholic Church and the Vatican, in and of itself, cannot own anything, as all things are held in trust and in joint and common tenancy for all people for all ages.

Hey, who wants to limit themselves to the "middle class", most people would like to be wealthy, especially at the expense of the tax paying population. Another point of view could be obtained from the homeless street people who don't desire any "stinkin" middle class more'
