What is it with these nutty environmentalist groups putting out ads that are so blatantly anti-human? We all know that they’re anti-human but it just shows they’ve gone so far over the deep end that they don’t even know that putting a noose around a child’s neck in an ad is crazy.
Weasel Zippers has the story.

Well in a strange way it makes sense. First we (Western culture in general) makes the humanity of a fetus questionable. Once thats firmly in the collective mind we can move on to toddlers, then older children, the elderly, handicapped, and finally those who don't fit the criteria of a high enough "quality of life" (poverty stricken or chronically unemployable).
From then it's all up for grabs, political rivals, those religions out of favor, you name it and they'll justify killing it.
Culture of Death? We ain't seen nothing yet!

Learn this epithet well: Green Supremacists.

Actually this ad is not anti-child at all. In fact it is very pro-child in the sense it is pro-future. The Child represents our future as a species and perhaps as a planet, if we continue to destroy the earth (i.e. global climate change) then the ice will melt and our future (the child) will die. So the point is that we should prevent the ice from melting so we can save the child (our future).
There definitely is anti-child sentiment in parts of the environmental movement, but this is a classic over reaction. I laud your effort to be on the defense against the anti-child attitude but this is not an example of that. The ad is in bad taste by showing a child with a noose, but its core message is simply: "Don't kill our future" which is the exact opposite of what you accuse the ad of being…

Mitch,
We get it, thanks–regardless: they have a noose around a child's neck. Unacceptable. If they want to symbolize the future of the plant, use a baby seal.

Planet! (Although plant works pretty well, all things considered.)

"The ad is in bad taste by showing a child with a noose, but its core message is simple: "Don't kill out future" which is the exact opposite of what you accuse the ad of being.."
Mitch,
You obviously miss a more subtle message. Anyone who knows anything about the "Green" Movement, and the Anthropegenic Global Warming agenda in particular know that they view children as "the enemy". For them, humans are the main catalyst in destroying the planet, and children in particular represent all that is wrong with humanity. They've constantly said there are way too many children, and only abortion and contraception (forced, if need be) are the solutions to this problem. The image of the girl with a noose around her neck, and the strident saying "Don't kill our future", is filled with irony. For these people, humanity doesn't deserve a future.

Never trust anybody who worships plants and animals. The Druids got pretty deadly when it came time to sacrifice and if I remember my old history books correctly, teenagers and kids were the favored sacrifice.

And yet there is a legitimate part of the Green movement that doesn't see children as the enemy, that sees children as a blessing, etc. This is largely a Christian Green movement that is inspired by sacramental theology and Chestertonian-type Distributism. Those who subscribe to this idea as opposed to the secular green movement and the radical green movement have no great issue with large families and in fact most of them laud large families and many of them have large families. I see GCC as a legitimate problem, I am not 100% convinced of it but I am most of the way there, but I also can say that it is a good thing for families to have 2, 4, 5, 8 or however many children a couple may have. I myself hope to have a large family someday.
People who take positions against Children are not truly green just anti-human. They are the inner ring of anarchists(read: The Man who was Thursday). They envision a world without out restrictions, that is a world with out laws and customs. A world without humans. Anarchism is not green just suicidal and despairing. These people could care less about the environment, it is simply their current method of seeking species level suicide. They look at reality and as Neitzsche's madman did and see no God, that God is dead, the morality that came from religion thus is also dead it has no grounding but unlike the madman they do not create a new morality but despair and seek destruction. The sad thing is that God is right there, they just simply refuse to look, to see and to love. A true green movement is in God.

I agree with Mitch to a sense. "Going green" is fine, just don't "worship green".
I've always wanted to create a bumper sticker that has an unborn baby and then just says "Preserve America's Greatest Natural Resource". Just to put a different spin on it.
And even the Pope is known to have taken steps to make the Vatican green. One of his first acts in the Papacy was to install solar panels, right?
There's nothing wrong with being stewards of the earth, but there is something tremendously wrong with worshipping the earth. The difference is based solely on the recognition of God.
ALL that having been said, the above commercial does bother me, as I really don't like to see children in any way maligned or put in a position of danger (even if it is posed). This is an ad that I feel goes over the top. The ad that Subvet posted on his blog was much worse, and worth checking out, if you want to see a pro-green-movement, anti-human-life ad:
