The Hill writes:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will host a reception Wednesday afternoon on Capitol Hill to celebrate “The accomplishments of the 111th Congress,” according to an invitation sent out Monday.
The event will offer congressional Democrats, many of whom will not be returning to Congress next January, an opportunity to reflect on the party’s legislative victories over the past two years. These have included the passage of major healthcare reform, financial regulatory reform, and climate and energy legislation.
Not likely to be lost on attendees, however, is that the unpopularity of many of these “accomplishments” among voters went far to contribute to a wave of Democratic losses in last week’s mid-term elections, in which Democrats lost control of the House and their majority in the Senate was weakened.
How awesome is this? Just days after being booted from her job for disastrous incompetence she’s holding a party to celebrate her success. But it gets better. She invited all the people who are out of jobs because of her. Can you say “aaaaawkward?”
And now she wants to continue running the Democratic Party aground. I say, “You go girl.” And by “go” I mean stay on as the leader of your party. Party on.

Sad. It looks like this is all she has in life and she's clinging to it for as long as she can.

Poor Nancy. There is nothing as pathetic as a has-been that won't let go.
Maybe they can stage an intervention at the party…

Who's paying for this?

If I were a leftist Democrat and the only thing I had to show for the last couple of years after such a drubbing at the polls was achieving my lifelong dream of moving the country toward socialized medicine, I suppose I'd celebrate my accomplishments, as well.
Let's at least give Pelosi credit for being a very effective legislator. She may have been responsible for losing her party the majority in the House, but she probably considers that a small price to pay for creating a new entitlement that is likely to be with us forever (or at least until we go bankrupt).

good for her. george bush and the cynical war mongering people who supported the republicans put us all out of work and your wars are bankrupting the uSA not Nancy

Ummm, war mongering people who support republicans… that's so funny. It is much better to be a baby killing communist who wants to take away freedom. The US was bankrupted by spending too much on both sides, and by Barney Frank, Fanny Mae & Freddie Mac, and all those who said everybody has to own a home instead of earning your way to owning a home.

Hi! We are students at Smith College in Massachusetts taking a Research Seminar. We invite you to take a survey assessing gender attitudes and behavior. The survey should take between 30-45 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. To thank you for your participation, you will be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card on Amazon.com. Thank you in advance for your participation!

I encourage everyone to go to the survey and fill it in. I was an extremely racist and unpleasant femist, pro-choice and member of the Democratic party.

My prediction: Clinton-Pelosi in 2016.

(as a team, not as winners)

Clinton can definitely win, but not with Pelosi on the ticket. Even Democrats would flinch from putting Pelosi a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

If I was one of the outgoing Devilcrats attending that "party", I'd find a way to dump the guacamole bowl on that Nazi broad's face. It would be a vast improvement.

The students at Smith College are psych students trying to prove the theory that conservatives are mentally ill. Start taking the survey and you'll see what I mean.
The students had an advert on Gateway Pundit. Guess they're on the defensive after Liberty and Tyranny and The Liberal Mind. Heh heh!

I agree with the above, saying "good for her". To the person who scoffed at the idea of "war mongering people who support republicans", the fact is that Bush did start two wars during his tenure, and although the outcomes are yet to be determined, the lives we've lost are irreplaceable, and the financial costs of these conflicts is out of control. Also, Bush repeatedly lied about his reasons for going to Iraq, so I have a hard time when people who value honesty try to defend him. I have yet to see anything the Democrats have done as communist, taking away freedoms, or killing babies, although there is a great deal of passionate discourse out there that would have you believe that. Much of that discourse is fueled by insanely wealthy folks (such as those who financed many of the tea party candidates) who would like to retain Bush's tax cuts for the super-wealthy. The church used to be about protecting the poor and the down-trodden, so it's heart-wrenching to see so many people fall prey to those who have money and can afford to buy out media outlets and brain-wash the good-natured churchfolk who don't know they are being made into pawns for moneyed interests.
