This is an amazing story about a man reunited with his sister after about 50 years. She was sent away due to some “minor disabilities” when she was three and struck from family memory.
Kudos to CBS News for an excellent story.
Exit note: If that seems cruel to you, just think that nowadays we kill 90% of babies with “minor disabilities” in the womb.

Wow!
I can say that grew up with a mentally retarded great uncle who is about to turn 64. He did not live in a home and is extremely fortunate to have an older brother who takes very good care of him. He is always a joy to be around, even just this past Thanksgiving when we last saw him. All life is important and our family would not be the same without the joy that is my great uncle.

Well, let's face it. It is cruel to send your three year old away to state run home. Incredibly cruel. Cruel to the three year old girl certainly, and also to the little boy who had to wonder where his sister went. But it's sweet of him to go find his sister. Thank God for redemptive acts.

Oh gosh, that just breaks my heart. My 5 year old daughter is disabled, and reminds me of his sister in the video of her at the same age (similar mannerisms and eye issues, only her eyes turn out instead of in).

Wow! Very similar thing happened in my husband's family. His mother's younger brother was sent away to an institution, when he was 4 and she was 8, and they were never to speak of it. Another brother was born 3 tears later, who never told any of his 4 children about it. After this (the youngest), brother's death his daughter-in-law found out and began the research. After a few months, she was able to locate him. Then, my mother-in-law, after 55 years, was reunited with him and able to visit a few times. before his death.
