National Public Radio is not what one might call particularly Catholic friendly. As the national voicebox for the values of Modernity, they often have a hard time understanding ideas that preexist Kant, Descartes and Nietzsche. But even NPR can’t resist the charm of the Nashville Dominican Sisters. Read the NPR article here.

Article = fantastic; comments = stunningly aweful!
I guess I need to consider the source but how can a person spew such hate after reading such an uplifting article? We've got a long way to go.

Moths can't resist the draw to the flame, and God haters can't resist the draw to God. They circle around like angry children saying immature things…but they are reading it. And that's a start.

The only thing that could have made the article better is if they interviewed my cousin, Sr. Margaret Mary!

The backhanded lead in to the story was an embarrassment but the NPR story was the usual good work from NPR's religious reporter, Barbara Haggerty. Reading the chip-on-the-shoulder attitude of this blog made me do a double take thinking I had erroneously gone to the Fox Noise web site by mistake. I'll pray for you. God bless.

Yeah, the article was actually quite good, but the comments were a frightful display of a fallen humanity.

I just had to lol when I read in the article that the first-year postulates wore black & the second-years wore white & their singing at 5:30 was ghostly…
1. NPR spellcheckers didn't pick up 'postulants', i guess.
2. Postulants wear white, novices (in the Nsvlle Dmncns) wear black.
3. Their singing never sounds like ghosts, angels maybe but not ghosts.
That said, I'm guessing NPR is just piggybacking on Oprah. I'm happy that the hatefilled commenters on the article were at least exposed to the Truth. The Sisters know that, since their Spouse was so ridiculed & villified by hate & ignorance, they will be too. They just shower their villifiers with prayers like, "Father, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing."
