When Kennedy was shot, they blamed a conspiracy.
When King was shot, they blamed race.
When Reagan was shot was shot, they blamed guns.
When Oklahoma City was bombed, they blamed ideology.
When the World Trade Center was bombed by planes, some blamed Muslims and some blamed….us.
When a man shot up an Army base, they blamed…us…again.
When a man shoots a Judge, a child, and a US Representative, they blame…everybody.
Everybody but…

Twenty five years ago, we found a cure for mental illness…..the streets….We closed the mental institutions, instead of modernizing them and providing decent treatment et cetera…we closed the hudge campuses, let the developers use the lands and let families struggle with the care of the severe mentally ill. They sleep in streets, parks and live in jails. The courts almost always rule in favor of the mentally ill person's right to freedom…and so we get the "deranged persons" who can't decipher their thoughts doing terrible things. What the Tucson young man did is what the Tucson man did…no one else made him do it…his friends said he was not itnerested in talk radio, political talk or Sarah Palin…stop the blame game and put the problem where society left it…in the streets.

He is not insane. He planned that attack. He was even aware of right and wrong when he did it. In fact, he posted on one of his cites that he didn't want his friends to be mad at him. The right is talking about Palin as much as the left. Whether rhetoric plays a role in people's behaviors or not, just because a demagog has a right to say something doesn't mean that he/she should. Stop defending demagogs on both extremes of the political spectrum.
