Choice is for killing children, not for educating them. Understand that and you understand this present administration.

President Obama has initiated a national education competition open to all schools. Oh wait. All government run schools, that is. Catholic schools need not apply.

And wait until you hear what the winner gets.

Fox News reports:

Earlier this month, President Obama challenged high schools across the county to compete against each other in the second annual “Race to the Top” educational success program for the chance to have him give the commencement address at their graduation. Not included in the contest, though, are the more than 2 million students in America’s Catholic schools.

The last thing this anti-voucher administration would want is for a Catholic school to win the national contest, right? These lunatics want to fund Planned Parenthood with hundreds of millions of your dollars but can’t bear the thought of one cent going to parents to choose where they send their child to school.

Let’s face it, the last thing they want is to give publicity to the wonderful job so many Catholic schools are doing all across this country. It might give people ideas that there are better options out there.

If they could participate, the nation’s parochial schools would be fearsome competitors. A 2009 comparison between public and Catholic school SAT scores show that public school students had an overall average of 496 points on the critical reading portion of the test while Catholic school students scored 533 points on the same portion. Catholic school students outscored their public school counterparts by an average of 23 points.

But what about this prize? Can you imagine initiating a competition and the winner gets to hear YOU speak for an hour? That’s a bit of an ego trip, isn’t it?

Anyway, I’m not really too upset that Catholic schools aren’t allowed in the competition mainly because I’d hope that even if a Catholic school won they wouldn’t allow radically pro-abortion Obama to give the commencement address.
