I suppose it was only a matter of time, she has tried everything else.
There is a report out there that the Material Girl has ditched Kaballah for Opus Dei.
FOR the past 15 years, she has been Kabbalah’s most high profile and dedicated follower.
But now Madonna has apparently ditched the controversial faith and taken up with Opus Dei – the secretive Catholic sect made famous in The Da Vinci Code.
The singer is said to be intrigued by the organisation and spent Friday with priests from the centre’s London HQ.
The move follows her alleged falling out with some Kabbalah leaders after reports that cash raised for her Malawi charity was squandered. Last night a source claimed: “She has invested so much into Kabbalah so she was devastated by these damning accusations.
“She has started exploring different religions. Madonna has always been intrigued by Opus Dei. As yet, she’s not a fully paid-up member – she’s just had informal chats.”
Can albino assassins be far behind?
As for the seriousness of this, I will wait and see. Opus Dei could do her a lot of good. I doubt it is serious, but I hope it is true. If she does join, I guess she will have to give away half her wardrobe to a charity for homeless hookers.

Ummm…I'm thinking that she should probably join the Church first. Just an idea.

Is that really a picture of her? She's looking her age these days, I guess.

Given that she was raised Catholic this isn't all that implausable. Miracles do happen, & with Fr. Groeschel praying for her, it could be. But I will wait until there is some definite proof to believe it.
As for the picture, where did you dig that up?, it is horrible.

This ridiculous story has already been strenuously denied by Madonna's camp. Also, Madonna has been in London for the past two weeks. She has attended all Shabbat connections with her family at the Kabbalah Centre on Friday and Saturday. Last Friday when she is supposed to have spent 90 mins at Opus Dei she was at Abbey Rd Studios recording the soundtrack for her movie W.E.
– nuff said!!!!! The photo is photoshopped to distort the features though the original is of Madonna. I think they call it Creative Journalism! Madonna's only agenda is to try to become a better person and to make the World a better place. I just wish they would leave her alone to get on with it!

Madonna wanted to make the world a better place?? Say what?? I am not saying she is all bad, as most people have good and bad, but seriously, gyrating with cones on your boobs & sleeping with both women & men in movies watched by young people, how does that make the world a better place?? I hope she does return to the Catholic Church though.

Opus Dei isn't something you "join". It is a vocation and it takes a long time. Also, join is kinda the wrong term. There are various levels of commitment.

Wow. Just wow.

Anneg is correct. Attending an Evening of Recollection or other activity sponsored by The Work does not make one a member.

I like the pretext. Devout follower of Kabballah leaves to join Opus Dei after taking some criticism. How devout can one be to leave after some criticism?

this is not true the mirror just invented it!

She's going to be really hacked off when she finds out you have to be an active member of the Catholic Church to 'join' Opus Dei.
I've always thought she'd have a deathbed conversion. Her baptismal faith has always peeked out from underneath the pile of dung under which she has buried herself.
When the world has gotten tired of her and the lights have faded, she'll remember her true home! I'm going to join Fr. Groeschel.

"As yet, she’s not a fully paid-up member"
Do you have to pay to be an Opus Dei member? I am asking sincerely.

Keep in mind that the story cropped up in The Mirror, which is England's National Enquirer—Twinkies and Ho-Hos for the brain. Don't get me wrong, I hope Madonna does "come home" … but don't take seriously a rag whose overriding concerns are whether Kirsten Dunst appears naked in a photo with—er, surgical enhancements and whether Courtney Love is easier than Gwyneth Paltrow.

PS: Drat! I thought I'd beaten you to posting on it!

"secretive Catholic sect?" How secret can they be–they've got their own website. Plus, Google lists over 3 million results when you type in "Opus Dei."

perhaps her grandmother who was a very good Catholic, is in heaven interceding for her.

Madonna's conversion could have a great influence
on her followers.
