This is an interesting video. A television shows has a 15 year old babyface boy asking adults to buy him condoms. It’s interesting and depressing to hear most of the responses. You get a bunch of mealy mouthed adults absolutely punting on their responsibility (even when they refuse) and the confusion over “the right thing” is pretty awful. But wait until the old Catholic lady at the end. She gives it to him straight.

God bless the faithful Grandmas who keep the faith and make this world a better place.

Now I can't stop thinking of how I would respond…coupling theology of the body with the scientific evidence for the ills of premarital sex.
If they thought that lady lectured they'd be shocked by the time I was done.

Think the attitude of the first guy is unfortunately typical "kids are going to have sex". Why is it now a foregone conclusion.

within the first 30 seconds, we see how the media twists statistics. first, they imply that 46% to be a large amount of high school students having sex (though i would prefer it to be much lower…like 0%)… but then they imply "only" 61% is LOW amount. when you think about it critically, there are more high school students ABSTAINING from sex, and even more not using condoms. of course, we know that, at the very least, condom companies (and Big Abortion) want 100% of high school students to have sex and 100% of them to use condoms that don't work 100% of the time and then for the resulting pregnancies to result in abortions… but i digress.
some of the video is sad… and we the choir can say, God bless the old Catholic lady, as well we should because it did take guts to do the right thing… but we should also say God bless those who didn't do the right thing… even if they thought they did… because they need Jesus just as much as the rest of us do!

I def. would have been one of those to say "no" and brush the kid off, but this video has made me realize a lecture would be FAR more appropriate. Teens are also extremely influential. If you could change one person's life, would you do it?
also @ tmddstett – good point about the twisting of stats. I hadn't even thought of it that way.

I saw this episode. I absolutely love this show. Sad that children aren't taught about sex and abstaining by their parents. Sad that our culture is the way that it is now. Sad that families are falling apart. It's all sad.
