William McGurn shatters the falsehoods put forth by Notre Dame to support the election of an abortion supporter, Roxanne Martino, to their Board of Trustees.
The chairman of the university’s board of trustees, Richard Notebaert and University President Father Jenkins have been lying about her support, huge support of Emily’s List.
Notre Dame has put forth the lie that Ms. Martino supported many groups that provide a number of services and she had no idea that some were pro-choice. I call it a lie, because that is what it is. A lie. Emily’s list is not a women’s services group. They exist for one reason and one reason only, to elect pro-abortion politicians. McGurn says:
For as Notebaert’s message confirms, Emily’s List exists for one reason and one reason only. Click the home page of its website, and it asks you in big capital letters — some in red — to “HELP US ELECT PRO-CHOICE DEMOCRATIC WOMEN.”
If you continue onto the “What We Do” section inside the website, it goes on to say, “We’re a full-service political team with a simple mission: to elect pro-choice Democratic women.” Let’s underscore those words: simple mission. Let’s just say Emily’s List is admirably clear about what it does, and leaves no room for ambiguity.
Martino has given a whopping $25,000 to a group that does nothing other than support abortion. McGurn says that if we take them at their word, it calls into question their judgement. But I don’t take them at their word, not for one second. Notre Dame is lying, willfully putting forth an explanation they know not to be true.
Pro-life Alumni and the Bishop need to cut off Notre Dame until it completely rids itself of this filth.

Who has an extra $25,000 kicking around, to devote to the cause of, more and more, slaughter of innocent babies? I don't get it. Why. Let the pagans worship at the shrine of slaughtering the next generation if they wish by financing it…Could ND not find a single professional woman out there who does not actively fund more abortion? They do exist in great numbers and there are also lots of professional women who are prolife besides and actively support women in crisis pregnancies. If the President Obama thing was not a wake up call for ND perhaps this finally is.

Will their new bishop have something to say about this when he gets there? Considering he asked his entire diocese to give up meat on Friday and donate the money to pro-life/crisis pregnancy groups I can't imagine he'll walk in quitely.

It breaks my heart that this university, which my Grandfather and father and husband and sister attended, which I've loved since I knew it existed, has become so much less than it was, so much smaller in it's capacity to live out the mission for which it was created.

If Ms. Martino really gave 25k plus to Emily's List since 1998 and since then up to now never had any clue that they are all about abortion, why would ND want for a trustee someone who seems to have not a clue what to do with her money…"Here, have some money…whatever it is you do…" Lovely. That same chunk of change could have nicely funded outreach to pregnant mothers.
But it is really disturbing, if one contemplates that she funded people who go to Congress with the primary concern of expanding death. How many children were eliminated through her successive, repeated contributions?
If she wanted to fund Democrats why didn't she just support prolife Democrats?

Her and ND's next move then will be for her to sue Emily's List for false advertising and ask for the return of the money as she had 'no idea' they were all about, and only about, so much abortion as possible, all the time, and everyone else in the world seems to already know that but her because she and ND actually expect us to believe that she gives generously to political action organizations which solely fund abortion candidates and yet somehow at the same time she can't read print, or perhaps doesn't read anything, is unaware and otherwise living under a rock, or in a cave, or as a hermit away from all mass media…?
