The Susan B. Anthony List goes after Planned Parenthood like it’s their job. ‘Cause it kinda’ is. But they seem to really enjoy their work.
The SBA List has been at the forefront of the Defund Planned Parenthood movement and that movement is scoring a major victory today.
Today, the state of Texas passed SB 7 which, along with the recently passed budget, “would strip an estimated $47 million from Planned Parenthood clinics in the state,” according to the SBA List.
The bill is now on its way to Governor Rick Perry’s desk where it is expected to be signed into law. So powerful will Perry’s signature be that it is rumored to possibly cause all the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome for President Barack Obama from thousands of miles away. Many people thought Rick Perry looked pretty awesome before but this is like finding out that Perry, as well as acting as Governor by day, has also been fighting crime at night as The Batman.
This isn’t just a regular ol’ smackdown of Planned Parenthood. This is a $47 million smackdown. And let me tell you something -in this economy $47 million buys you a lot of smackdown.
Planned Parenthood has given a name to its pain and it is the SBA List. Because the defund Planned Parenthood movement hurts Planned Parenthood in the only way that it can actually be hurt. It takes away money and let’s face it – the only thing that Planned Parenthood cares about is money. It’s taking away their sole purpose of existing. It’s like taking away brains from zombies but different (and yet kinda eerily the same.)
“Once again, the pro-life grassroots have fought and won another battle at the state level to defund Planned Parenthood,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The list of states taking up the cause of preventing taxpayer dollars from being used to fund the nation’s largest abortion provider is growing, and so is the list of states where those efforts are wildly successful.”
So hardcore and efficient has the Defund Planned Parenthood Now Movement been that the SBA List was having a hard time keeping track of how much beatdown they helped to deliver so they’ve actually come up with a scoreboard to keep track with a state by state breakdown.
You know Planned Parenthood is hoping that this movement runs out of steam or is destroyed somehow but pro-life activists can’t stop until every state has defunded Planned Parenthood. Let’s hope, pray, and work until every state is up on the scoreboard because we all know that funding abortionists is funding abortion.

Good news, but here in NC our governor vetoed the bill. I don't know if they will succeed in overriding. We may just need a new governor.

"… here in NC our governor vetoed the bill."
The N.C. General Assembly overrode her veto of the budget bill.
"This is a $47 million smackdown."
That's excellent. But why was there $47 frickin' million in my home state's budget for Planned Parenthood in the first place?

Like the scoreboard. Some big money there.

IBS? Well that explains the President's natural expression;)
This is why I don't want to see Rick Perry run. Because we need him…Right where he is…Just like Christie. We need conservatives at the state level. Because even if we get a conservative back to the white house, they probably couldn't abolish Roe v Wade. But they might be able to grant sovereignty back to the states. And that's when we need pro life leaders in each state to catch the ball…And run with it…
Keep going SBA! And Live Action! You guys are a power house!!!

Hundred thousand here, hundred thousand there, pretty soon we're talking real money. ^.^
PattyinCT-
Rick Perry staying where he is sounds delightful to me, since it avoids the issues I have with him AND advances the issues I don't have with 'im. ;^

Planned Parenthood is not supported by Michelle Bachmann, yet FOX News', Chris Wallace wants to know if Michelle Bachmann is a flake. Oh that's right, staunchly pro-life candidates like Michelle Bachmann get asked whether they're flakes or not while spineless wishy washy pro-choice/somewhat pro-life flip-floppers like Mit Romney are NEVER asked if they're flakes. And that's considered fair and balanced? Oh, only fair and balanced to the Republican ESTABLISHMENT!

I just joined the list.

Not for nothing, but I am not sure that the SBA List was anywhere near Texas during the last legislative session.
The people that did the work to defund Planned Parenthood in Texas were the Texas Alliance For Life and a few other state-based groups. This is the first I am hearing that SBA was "at the forefront."

We tried a BLACK president and he failed. Now we need to go back to the White ones since it will take 50 of them to correct all the damage of the first BLACK one.
Time for Obamy to go back to playing sports and looking for his real Kenyan birth certificate.
