This story at the Daily Mail is actually worse than the headline even indicates.
Fox paid $4.8 billion in taxes, MSNBC $0
OK, the headline is misleading.
The parent company of Fox News — News Corp. — paid the U.S. government $4.8 billion in taxes over the last four tax years (2007-2010).
GE, which owned most of MSNBC until late last year, paid zero taxes in 2010.
In fact, GE received a $3.2 billion welfare check from Uncle Sam.
GE received a $3.2 billion welfare check from the government.
Hmmm. I wonder why NBC and MSNBC give such fawning coverage to the President.
But hey, for the Obama White House it’s money well spent mainly because it’s not their money. It’s yours.

…Do you ever talk about religion or theology on this blog?

If this is true, how ironic that the network known for being the mouthpiece for the Republican Party (FOX…as sly as a fox "news") is actually paying what they're against: taxes. It's a shame that there is nothing regarding our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Church mentioned in this blog. The very blog that would rather overlook a talking head like Sean Hannity, who parades his Catholic "status" while openly dissenting from the Church's teachings on artificial contraception. I have no regard nor respect for partisans because partisans focus more on the temporal than the eternal….that means BOTH Democrats AND REPUBLICANS.

BTW "Anon", if you don't see religion or theology or God in every day things, then well, you aren't looking very hard, because it is right in front of you. You just aren't seeing it the right way.

It was that polite people never discussed religion or politics. Then the United States legalized baby killing. It changed then.
We have come to know that the polity of the USA is headed in a different direction from God. We are alarmed! Using the political process is ONE thing we can use to set things aright.

I agree with Father!

Fr. Bauer,
With all due respect, the U.S. legalized baby killing during a time when Church leaders in the Catholic Church were more interested in experimenting with the faith than leading. Unfortunately, it seems that far too many bishops are still reluctant to lead. When did the springtime of the second vatican council happen? Or did I miss it? What are the fruits of that council?

I think it's pretty clear that MSNBC is a mere sock puppet for the
DNC. How can the members of its news team tell us they are
principled journalists and keep straight faces?
Naturally, this story will receive exactly zero airtime from MSNBC.
