I honestly thought this was some kind of viral joke when I first saw it but after looking around, it seems to be horribly true. A small Arkansas town is attempting to pass a law banning groups from meeting to discuss anything about the town without first getting permission from the town itself and filling out paperwork for permission to discuss the town.
This is nuts but it looks like it’s true. The Council has moved to ban all groups from discussing the city, even in their own home! That’s right. It would be illegal to discuss city matters in your own home.
Thankfully, the Mayor is vetoing the bill but he said he believes it will come back in another form.

I think aliens must have stolen all common sense from the city council. The mayor's is still clearly intact, but that councilwoman… Wow.

Somebody wasn't paying much attention during high school civics.
Wow.
And how does that councilwoman think her city will monitor all
meetings and associations in that town? Will the town also be
monitoring facebook? Perhaps they need to look into tapping
everyone's phones while they're at it. There's just no end to the
crazy these people are bringing. The voters of that town would do
well to retire their city councilmembers, if that's still permitted there.

Dude, everything I try to share from here on to FB is blocked as spam. First the MSNBC no taxes post, now this.

Yeah, let's all have a Thought Police. Great idea. I don't think Nanny State is the right word anymore. I think Bully State is much more like it.

Shhh! Don't tell the Chilhowee Missouri town council! This is the precedent they've been waiting for. And the mayor will not veto. Prayers requested.

It appears Facebook is banning links from your blog. Twice now I tried to post a blog, like this one, and was prevented by FB, with the notice that the material had been tagged as offensive. Might want to check it out.

yeah me too, this one and the one about MSNBC … FB says it is spam. I reported it but have not heard back from them ..

For the second time today, facebook will not allow me to post links from Creative Minority Report, alleging that it has been flagged as offensive. But islamic supremacists and perverts can post whatever they want. There are entire pages & groups dedicated to jihad & even pedophilia, but a family friendly Catholic blog is banned. You can only post links to CMR as "comments", not individual posts. I sent reports to facebook, and so have others that I've talked to about this.

Yeah I have had the same problem as noted above and in another post. I have not heard back from FB. I asked around and it appears some people just spend their days "flagging" posts they "do not like'" which causes this to happen
