Beautiful. Made me cry. My baby was born with a cleft palate which is quite a bit more serious than just the lip. It was a very difficult thing to go through with so many unknowns about how things would turn out – with speech, hearing, etc. In fact, the stresses were unbelievable.
In the end, the post op pain, the special bottles, the syringe feedings and the $40,000 cost was worth it. Our baby is now completely normal and could not be happier. It is just amazing what a good surgeon can do. I would have paid quadruple for it.
Smile Train is another good organization that does this work for the poor. In the case of a palate they can literally save a life for a couple hundred bucks. Very worthwhile cause.

Then I thought, the world being what it is, there are many dangers and temptations that go with being a beautiful girl. May her soul have good care too, and stay beautiful always. Beauty is from God.
