It is almost impossible to criticize Chaz Bono WITHOUT being prejudiced.
Chaz Bono has claimed that there is a bias on Dancing With The Stars that caused him/her to be treated ‘disrespectfully’ and bounced from the show.
Bias against lesbians? Nope.
Bias against trangender people? Nope.
Bias against idiots? Nope.
Chaz Bono claims there is institutional bias against fat dudes. Fat dudes. On a dancing show? Go figure.
Bono, who earned a score of 19 out of a possible 30 on Monday night, also said he feels there is a gender divide between how overweight men and overweight women are treated on the show.
He mentioned the positive response from the judges to Kirstie Alley, 60 , on the last season.‘It’s hard to take this competition seriously when the judges are so inconsistent,’ he said.
It’s hard to take this show seriously? Because of inconsistency?
Please.
Poor Chaz thought once she messed with her junk that life would be fair. As a fat dude, I can tell you discrimination is rampant. But at least I am not an idiot.

Thank you for this. I laughed so freaking hard today because of this post. I'm honestly surprised they kept him/her as long as they did.

Oy! It's interesting to see the before and after pics of Chastity/Chaz. I mean, Chastity was not slender, but Chaz has ballooned. But of course, I would never suggest there might be any underlying problems.

ROTFL. Not that there's anything wrong with Chaz.
Guys just let the fat comments go, whereas women are more deeply offended. Chaz just needs to man up. Despite all that crazy, I don't know why, but I find Chaz to be a very likeable person. My biggest nightmare is to dance on (or have to watch) DWTS. So, hats off for enduring that torture.

I consider myself very conservative and I agree with what the Church teaches on homosexuality, and I was appalled that Chaz Bono was chosen as a contestant…but why are supposedly faithful Catholics watching this show to begin with, anyway? The rare occasions I happened to turn on the show to see what all the hubub was about, the dance routines were packed with sexual innuendo and the women are "dressed" in some of the skimpiest clothing imagineable. As for Chaz, it's not a laughing matter at all. That individual should be prayed for, not be labelled as an "idiot". You're doing the liberals a favor by buying into their claims that those who don't support GLBT rights are bigoted. How tragic is it that she is so sick psychologically that she rejected her femininity and further had it dessimated? Have some compassion.

Chaz is a poor soul, and I feel nothing but compassion for her. (She did not get her "junk" changed, by the way. She only had radical mastectomies).
There are deeper issues, and I pray Chaz is able to exorcise those demons. Unless you've battled inner demons, tread lightly on her.

Sad, sad sad.

It is true, though, that one of the judges, Bruno, is capable of mouthing some adjectives that should not be uttered at all, but it has nothing to do with Chaz' being transgendered or fat. The judge was talking more about Chaz' execution of the dance, steps, movement and all. I even felt that the fans had been kind to Chaz, not on his own merit, but because of some maneuvering by his mother. He should have been the first one to be booted out of the competition. Chaz just does not possess the gift of a dancer.

I'm amazed that she was voted off. I actually thought the show was rigged for her to win this year.
October 27, 2011 at 7:17 pm
Goes to show that Chastity is fulfilling the stereotypical role of "another fat chick blaming everyone else for her problems."
We should all keep her in our prayers…

Why is the "G" in GLBT always first? Is that sexist?
October 27, 2011 at 9:56 pm
Got to agree with Cathy: Why are Catholics watching this? Reality shows are simply an appeal to the malice of their viewers. Malicious producers presenting morally deformed freaks for our entertainment. Malicious "judges" pretending to a standard of fairness. Malicious viewers drooling over the barely-disguised cruelty of the whole business. Talk about an occasion of sin!

I guess making a man takes a lot more than hormone supplements and breast removal surgery.

Stephanopolis used to help make national policy in the Clinton years. Now he interviews Chaz Bono at 7:00 in the morning. I guess they offered him a lot of money.

There is a reason Chaz is fat. The simple fact is that he/she still has a female skeleton and if he/she were slim he/she would have an obviously female figure. Being fat allows he/she to obliterate any sign of femininity in his/her physical appearance. Chaz will still leave behind a female skeleton once he/she passes from this world, though I'll be money that he/she will have him/herself cremated to erase even that lasting sign of herself.

I think Chaz is not a good dancer and he/she was keeping in the show because the public votes what Bruno said that look as a penguin dance it was truth.
October 28, 2011 at 4:18 am
"Poor Chaz thought once she messed with her junk that life would be fair."
And if "Poor Chaz" looks online to see what Catholics are saying about her, she finds her worst prejudices confirmed: The Mystical Body, based on this witness, is un-Christian and uncharitable, throwing reverence out the door when a vulgar cheap shot can be made at an easy target.
October 28, 2011 at 6:06 am
Chaz Bono needs psychiatric care, not appearances on DWTS.
I pointed out to a friend years ago that the 'Survivor'show wasn't real. I told him ,"Do you really believe the producers of that show would put anyone in harms way? Do you think they want mucho grande lawsuits by the contestant or his family members if something went wrong big time? Scotju

Dawn
With all due respect, pointing out absurdity is not uncharitable. Chaz is claiming discrimination based upon being a "fat man."
This is silly on its face. Christian charity does not require pretending that the absurd is anything other than absurd. This is not a vulgar cheap shot. If you really think so, you are projecting things on my statement that are not there.

\I consider myself very conservative and I agree with what the Church teaches on homosexuality, and I was appalled that Chaz Bono was chosen as a contestant\
Homosexuality is NOT the same thing as transsexuality, though like the former's conflation with pedophilia, is a distinction too subtle for some people to grasp.
October 28, 2011 at 9:59 pm
Not really interested in the subtleties and variations of alternate unnatural sexual preferences, styles, etc.. Ugh. You go ahead. If that makes me a "bad Catholic" so be it.
