Yahoo Sports’ Shutdown Corner has a piece on Tim Tebow and it starts with this disclaimer:
(Disclaimer: AP style says I’m supposed to capitalize the word “God,” so that’s what I’m going to do. It’s not an endorsement of a monotheistic religion or any other belief system — I’m doing what AP tells me and hoping I am not smote.)
How immature is this?
I don’t know what this guy believes but he’s clearly being cute here. Does he write disclaimers on all editing decisions? Of course not. So why does he do so here? Because it’s a Tim Tebow story. And this journalist wants to let everyone know that he’s covering Tebow but don’t worry none of the Jesus is rubbing off on him. He wants to let everyone know that he’s way cooler that Tebow. He wants to let everyone know that with him Jesus is still a punchline.
The effect Tebow is having on football is great. But it’s nothing compared to the paroxysms of looniness from the media. I’m rooting for Tebow for many reasons, one of which is it’ll make the media bonkers.

What a hack! I mean, why do they let obvious fans with bias write about their favorite teams?
He doesn't have a disclaimer about the denver broncos, but his capitalization of them without such a disclaimer clearly shows his bias!

"a hack"? Where I come from, we'd call him a "puke."

"Puke"? That's an insult to vomit.
"God" is capitalized merely because it's a proper name (personally I think it's a lousy proper name, since that word, and its translations, originally referred to tutellary spirits, not the Actus Subsistens Essendi). If someone doesn't know that, they are not qualified to criticize any other person in public life. This writer is, for example, far inferior to Palin by any intellectual measure.
Oh, I forgot to mention, by Palin, I mean Trig, not Sarah.
(I never get tired of that gag.)

A very nasty "gag".

Why is it nasty? If people don't like me making that joke, maybe they shouldn't demonstrate they'd be outwitted by a Down's Syndrome one-year-old.
I also only use it in reference to the sort of person who looks down on Palin, and her decision not to murder her child.
And seriously, they are not smart. They are monumentally stupid; I'm only slightly exaggerating when I say they don't get to look down on Trig's intellect. I don't like when stupid people posture as intellectuals, especially not when it's incidental to their support for evil positions, and their hatred of people whose toilets they are not worthy to scrub.

I guess PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) has mutated into TDS (Tebow Derangement Syndrome) among our journalistic-betters…it is virus and flu season, after all!
