Under the HHS rule requiring all insurers to cover birth control including abortifacients, any religious exemption that does eventually get included (if any) will almost certainly not allow crisis pregnancy centers to claim that exemption.
So think about this – crisis pregnancy centers will be forced to cover abortifacients.
So the same government that forces crisis pregnancy centers to prominently post signs saying they don’t provide abortions will force CPC’s to cover abortifacients. So maybe the CPC’s should put up signs saying, “The government makes us tell you we don’t provide abortions. The government also makes us provide for them.”
Gotta’ love Big Brother.

That's the whole problem with having a religious exemption to the HHS rule. Even if the exemption is broadened so that it covers Catholic hospitals, Catholic colleges, religous-based charities, etc., it still isn't sufficient. What if I am a faithful Catholic and I run my own business, with several employees for whom I provide health insurance? Then I am in the exact same boat as the monks at Belmont Abbey College. The government would mandate that I must buy health insurance that covers contraception, abortifacients, and pro-contraception counseling. My only morally acceptable option would be not to provide health insurance to my employees (and pay a hefty fine), but obviously this option is far from ideal.
Essentially, this HHS mandate (which is part of Obamacare) is an assault on the religious freedom of ANY faithful Catholic who purchases health insurance, especially a Catholic employer who provides insurance for others. And merely having an exemption for religious organizations will not be sufficient to change that fact.

Is this the case? CPCs aren't insurers; they are providers.
Secondly, Paul is totally right. I hate when the USCCB and the respective state Catholic Conferences get caught up in exemptions for exactly that reason.

Steve is correct. CPC's are not insurers. They actually provide very few if any services that are covered by insurance. Now if the CPC has employees for which it provides insurance, under the HHS mandate, the CPC will have to provide insurance coverage for contraception and abortifacients as outlined by HHS. As of yet, HHS has not demanded CPC's provide any service.

"or prohibit the free exercise thereof" of the First Amendment to our Constitution clearly, even if Obama cannot read, specifies that the free exercise of conscience, the free exercise of religion cannot be burdened with government laws. These laws are illegitimate laws since CONGRESS, and only CONGRESS is mandated to make laws THROUGH THE WILL OF PEOPLE and CONGRESS has not made these laws. Only CONGRESS has legitimate power to make and pass laws, as ratified by two thirds of the states in our Constitution.

our tax dollars at work. Pelosi said in Jan. 2009 speech "We cannot afford these people. They have to be aborted" Read: "We cannot afford these people. They have to be euthanized". Gimme your money. Government built nursing homes with taxes and then passed a law that three generations could not live in one household, unless an apartment with bath and kitchen were provided to grandma/pa.
December 17, 2011 at 6:31 pm
So, mom and dad went to work to pay for their taxes and the nursing home for grandma/pa. Since grandma/pa could not care for their grandchildren, mom and dad had to put Junior in daycare, another tax subsidized monstrosity of government. So, now mom amd dad are paying their taxes, nursing home and daycare instead of raising and enjoying their family. Government will soon tell mom and dad how many chidren the state will allow them to bear…because "We cannot afford these people" and after we have eaten out your sustenance we will pass a law to put you out of your existence. Now. Gimme your money. Obamacare and Rural Councils Executive Order 13575 are laws made by the Executive branch of government and are unconstitutional. as only CONGRESS is empowered by the people to make and pass law. These laws must be made by CONGRESS.

Just read the book Childless. I hate it when fiction becomes reality. Lord, have mercy on us.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.—-Thomas Jefferson.

To give virtue an exemption means the whole mess is a vice.
December 18, 2011 at 6:01 am
Conscience clauses should exist both individually and corporately, so a properly done one would exempt both the individual healthcare worker, and the group of healthcare providers.
Or, and here's a novel thought, we could just not legalize, let alone subsidize, things that a sizable proportion of the community considers immoral. I think there's a Greek name for that…"democracy", maybe?

The atheist denies that God is. Liar. The secularist/atheist denies that man has an immortal soul with the dignity of the sacred person, a child of God. Liars. The government uses tax dollars to pay for any civil rights lawsuit. The atheist/ secularist have overpowered our founding principles in a court of law, using our own God-given freedoms to impose tyranny.
Persons are fighting a defensive war. Truth must go on the offensive, using the same tactics the atheist uses, especially the tax paid for lawsuits.
Time is come, with the denial of our consciences to look to our founding principles of the U.S. Constitution, “or prohibit the free exercise thereof”. Hands off my conscience,… my Life, my Liberty, my destiny, my property. Keep the laws inscribed in our Constitution. Congress makes laws, not the President. After Obamacare, and Rural Councils, Executive Order 13575, The next Executive Order will be YOU ARE ALL MY SLAVES, YOU ARE ALL PROPERTY OF THE STATE. Nobody, but nobody, can argue with an Executive Order. Right? Obama lets us keep our own property. It is past time to let Obama know that the President of the United States represents all citizens, all free men, and FREEDOM.

The problem I have with it is it marginalizes abortion to be a matter of "belief", not not a real taking of innocent life.
