A Democrat commissioner in Louisiana has announced that he’d like to make wearing pajamas outside illegal. And he’s whining that the “moral fiber in our community is dwindling.”
And Commissioner Michael Williams is a believer in the slippery slope because here’s what he said. Honest to goodness, he actually said, “Because its pajama pants today, next it will be underwear tomorrow.”
Seriously? Dude, people have been wearing their pants so low and showing off their Fruit of the Looms for so long, pajamas are an upgrade. Look, I think wearing pajamas outside is pretty much a travesty but illegal?
Now, how much do you wanna’ bet that this Dem who’s all concerned about the “moral fiber” of his community is pro-choice. So outlawing pj’s is good but ripping babies apart is a choice?

He's probably pro civil unions as well.

Would there be an age limit? So you could take your toddler to the store in pjs but not your 10 yr old. Are there exemptions for travelers (midnight gas stops, etc.)? How about if you are sick? Is there a buffer zone for your house (could you go get the mail or take out the trash in pjs)? And what counts as pjs? Do sweats and yoga pants count or just the flannel pants with designs?

Wearing pyjamas in public is just one of the more minor of numerous results of a breakdown in morality – it's the causes of the moral breakdown that legislators ought to be tackling – such as legalisation of the killing of unborn babies, the promotion of sexual promiscuity, perversion and abuse, through, inter alia, the failure to control pornography. Then there's the degradation of marriage, the foundation of the family and society, upon which society depends for its moral wellbeing.

I agree with Lynda that the pajamas are a symptom and not a cause. The cause is that, as a culture, we have lost the sense of morality; or as Blessed John Paul II would say, we've lost the sense of sin.
However, being from Louisiana, I can attest that there are many, many Democrats who are pro-life. Now, why they choose to remain Democrat when that party has demonstrated its loyalty to abortion, I cannot understand.

Hasn't he looked around in the summertime? Lots of women wear "underwear" out and about.

Would that include outlawing pajama jeans?

This is a commentary on the state of cultural relativism. It seems that what I like and want is "choice". What I don't like or want is a slippery slope of moral decay.
Truth has become – literally, in this case – "what's fashionable right now".
