Well, Obama’s always got the U.S. Catholic readers. Well, a majority of them anyway.
Here’s the question that U.S. Catholic posed and then the response:
7. I intend to vote for Barack Obama in the 2012 elections.
Yes 51%
No 38%
Undecided 11%
I’ve got to wonder, how could Catholics (any Catholics) go through these past three years with Obama’s assault on religious liberty and his radical pro-abortion actions and still vote for this guy? I honestly just don’t see it.
The guy isn’t just for tearing babies apart in the womb, he’s for refusing them treatment when they come out of the womb. And he’s not just for abortion, he’s for taxpayer funded abortion. He’s tried to stamp out religious liberty.
Hey, U.S. Catholic readers! Wake up!
The only good news is that I’d bet three years ago that number was a lot higher among U.S. Catholic readers. But we can’t have Catholics voting for Obama in mass again, can we? Tell me Obama’s not going to win the Catholic vote again. Someone? Please?

This is truly distressing.

What's "US Catholic readers" mean" Is that the proper noun-type name of some publication I have been missing out on?
Oh well.
Prayer and fasting my friends. That is the answer.
(Oh yeah, and war. I am supposed to be for war. HA!)

I look around here in the bible belt and I realize that it is my protestant evangelical neighbors who hold up the tattered flag of social conservatism.
Could I just say, thank God for them. I could never be one of them, but thank God for them.

Can you please name the top 5 radical pro-abortion actions Obama has taken since taking office?
January 20, 2012 at 12:53 am
Here is a list for you. Many more than five. http://www.lifenews.com/2010/11/07/obamaabortionrecord/

1) Obama revoked the Mexico City policy of not funding abortion in Mexico the very next day of his inauguration. Nancy Pelosi made a speech Jan. 2009 and said: "These people have to be aborted. We cannot afford them. They must be aborted." Probably not one of your five, but all pro-lifers, returning vets and people who know how to use a gun were labeled "right-wing terrorists". When people protested, the label was changed to "right-wing extremists" Another: Rural Councils, Executive Order 13575 LOOK IT UP. Obama intends to take any and all private property if the "government" does not like the way it is being used by the owner. (Nobody, but nobody comes on a private property without the owner's invitation. This is why the Revolutionary War was fought, because the English King was quartering his soldiers in the colonists' homes. Obama has redefined Charity, to tax non-profits and churches, conscience,"or prohibt the free exercise thereof" religion as the "worship" of God, instead of man's response to the gift of Faith, the vice of lust as the virtue of love in gay-marriage. The stimulus package contained a detail that allows Obama to collect all information on minor children in grammar and secondary school. It will be no surprize if Obamacare has the same detail, collecting all medical information to end the lives of his passionate supporters. CONGRESS MAKES LAWS, NOT THE EXECUTIVE IN CHIEF, OBAMA. Why did Obama sign into law on New Yeas Eve, from Hawaii, the National Defense Authorization Act giving, usurping the power to detain any citizen, indefintely without charges, overturning Habeas Corpus, trial by jury and the Magna Carta, 800 years of denying absolute power to the KING. I guess you have not heard of SOPA and PIPA, the censorship of the Internet. Censoring the Ten Commandments, leaving "our Creator" out of the recitation of The Declaration of Independence (three times), aborting "our Constitutional posterity" all future generations to come, ought to have set most Catholics on edge, but NO, they are waiting for the boot on the neck, the knock on the door, the silencing of the TRUTH, the imprisonment of ministers who read the bible against homosexual behavior. The silence they hear is the quiet before the war.

So in other words, the pro-Obama U.S. Catholic readers may actually be outnumbered by the pro-Obama U.S. Catholic population as a whole. In 2008, Obama got 53% of the Catholic vote if I remember correctly. No reason to think that figure is going to drop much in 2012.
What I'd be really curious to see is the percentage of U.S. Catholic clergy who voted and/or will vote for Obama. And I'd be further curious to see that figure broken down into older clergy who've been around a while, such as those around during Vatican II, versus the younger clergy. I think those figures could be very interesting and telling

U.S. "Catholic"? Which bishop or diocese is letting this publication get away with the use the title "Catholic", thereby offering credibility to (and implicit ratification of the viewpoint of) this rag?
January 20, 2012 at 4:48 am
In any Catholic school, chancery office, parish religious education program, liturgical ministry and especially "social justice" ministries, there are apt to be many salaried "professional" Catholics who will vote for Obama. Liberals have ensconced themselves in positions of influence.

U.S. Catholic hasn't educated their readers on some of Obama's anti-religious actions, and how they conflict with the true teachings of the Church. They tend to ignore details of his pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage activities, and emphasize his efforts that help the poor. I think many Catholics just watch the news, and see snippets of Obama saying "God Bless America" at the end of his speeches without realizing his actions belie his words. Obama has much of the media under his wing so you can't rely on them to be objective.
Education needs to take place at the grass-roots level. People aren't necessarily going to get all the facts by reading U.S. Catholic.
I agree – the rosary and fasting are powerful tools to combat the devil.

I didn't see any indication of the survey response size. For a starting point, the circulation of "US Catholic" was 30000 in 2006, and it's probably lower now.
January 20, 2012 at 2:02 pm
I would suggest that these people are more politically-minded than Catholic-minded. Sad indictment on the catechesis of our spiritual leaders.
January 20, 2012 at 5:13 pm
Readers of "US Catholic" are largely left-wing heretics–nothing surprising there. I am, however, surprised that it is only 51%. This does not bode well for Obama.
January 20, 2012 at 5:46 pm
Fellow American Catholics…….these "folks" need to prayed for as they are ignoring the truth of the "O's" evil inclinations toward them as a faith group. Very sad to see the ignorance of American Catholics of their Faith and of the facts on the ground about the current culture of the USA under the "O"!….

Pathetic!
I just completed U.S. Catholic's most current survey – The Tea Party and Catholic social teaching don’t mix- http://www.uscatholic.org/teaparty
I'm thinking I might need to make this a weekly habit 😉
January 20, 2012 at 6:45 pm
I'm not surprised, we canceled our to U.S. Catholic subscription about 5 years ago because they were/are too liberal in their thinking, by voting for Obama just proves that fact!
January 20, 2012 at 9:34 pm
The only surprise is that it's not a lot higher. The "U.S. Catholic" magazine is a heretical newspaper from the get-go. It needs to be shut down. The bishops need to make a big deal of this and warn people not to read it.
January 21, 2012 at 12:34 am
My catholic wife and I, and our 2 adult boys will be voting for Obama. Sorry, but the alternative is not at all good.
January 21, 2012 at 3:34 am
If you vote for Obama, you are not truly Catholic. Unfortunately, there are a lot of poorly catechized Catholics that think they can pick and choose what to follow of the teachings of the Church. God save the Republic.

Patrick,
For the same reason that the people and 10 tribes of Northern Israel saw no issue, and readily accepted, that Jeroboam put Golden Calves in each of the false temples at Bethel and Dan and then proclaimed"… Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt (1 Kings 12:28)". As Mark Shea says, "sin makes you stupid".
Angels and Hosts of Heaven, oro pro nobis.
