The Center for Bioethical Reform last year took an online ad from an abortion clinic and edited in some darn graphic abortion footage. So while the abortion folks are chatting up abortion like it’s the most wonderful thing since sliced bread CBR edited in graphic abortion footage.
It’s pretty effective but it’s grisly as all get out so I won’t embed it but you can find it here.
So the abortion clinic in question, the Northland Family Planning Clinics, freaked. And I mean freaked. They lawyered up and are now suing the CBR for copyright infringement.
But the CBR doesn’t seem very cowed. In fact, because of the lawsuit, CBR had access to all the emails concerning the CBR by the abortionists. And what they uncovered is laughable and by laughable I mean horrific in its cognitive dissonance.
According to the CBR, “Northland’s owner, Renee Chelian, received an email message from another “Abortion Care Network” abortionist who told her our Angel of Light video “… holds you up to public scorn and ridicule and demeans your reputation”…
She replied that after seeing our Angel of Light video, “I am sick to my stomach ….”
So abortion footage makes her sick to her stomach!?!?
Ms. Chelian then added that “I am done crying now and just need to move forward but these people are so hateful and disrespectful I can’t stand it.”
CBR showed what these people do every single day and profit off of and they say showing it is “hateful” and “disrespectful?”
Mind you, these same people in their ad call abortion a “courageous” decision?
She said that she was worried that us pro-life nuts will use the ad to inspire “… anti-D&E legislation.” As CBR points out the term “D&E” refers to dilatation and extraction (or evacuation) abortions in which the arms and legs of babies are torn off and removed one appendage at a time.”
She explains further that pro-lifers “are looking for new ammunition since PBA [partial-birth abortion] is pretty much done.” Pretty much? I don’t remember the ban on partial birth abortion being a “pretty much” ban, do you?
Renee Chelian says finally”… this just makes me sick. But by now I have spent several hours crying and being miserable so I am putting on my big girl underpants and getting over it.” Several hours crying? Over what? The courageous decision? Perhaps she should pay attention to to her conscience which may be bothering her.
According to CBR, another abortionist sent Ms. Chelian a similar message saying: “I also watched [the Angel of Light video] and it was so painful to see such a sincere and good piece of work treated so shabbily. It’s really hard to have to confront these things, emotionally big downers.”
An emotionally big downer to see the ad edited with the reality of what they’re doing.
My thinking on this is that the Northland folks aren’t suing because they’re upset their commercial is being monkeyed with but because it’s showing the truth of abortion. And they can’t allow that. They are willing to sue to keep their activity in the dark. They seek to cover the hard truth with a glossy highly produced ad with soft lighting and softer words. When we shine the light of truth they recoil in horror, not at what we did but because they are confronted with themselves. And they are horrified.

Abortion is a sad thing all around. Either from an unintended pregnancy, to a rape, to a downs syndrom baby, to a anecephalic birth defect. To treat abortion as just "sport f__king" is to simplify the problem. Abortion is always a sad difficult thing and to simplify it as simply baby killing is distressing.
They were not sickened by the process, but by the mental abuse of the women pressed into this terrible position.

"They were not sickened by the process, but by the mental abuse of the women pressed into this terrible position"-" Mental abuse"…..really? Soooo much worse than being torn apart physically with the consent of your own mother…….
January 25, 2012 at 12:43 pm
Anonymous, did you watch the video? I doubt it. It shows nothing about the woman. It shows an abortion. It shows the baby killing actively happening. It shows the parts of the baby, torn apart by the so-called doctor.
Abortion is not a "sad difficult thing" simplified down to just baby killing, it is baby killing obfuscated by intentional withholding of information, appeals to emotion (for the mother only, of course), and coded eugenics with a desire for a master race.
I don't claim to know why an abortion supporter would be sickened and cry for hours over this video, but I'm pretty sure it's not because of the mental anguish of the woman. Maybe it's because they see abortion for what it really is, and it conflicts with their belief that it's good. Maybe they see it and know that if it is seen by a wide audience their money train will derail.
One last thing: "pressed into this terrible position"? The only women pressed into that terrible position are the ones forced by others to get an abortion. Do you care about their mental (and possibly physical) abuse? The rest of the women choose to have their unborn baby ripped apart.
Watch the video.

Anonymous at 8.03 appears to suffer from the same lack of logic and charity as the abortionists. It is the abortionists and the administrators of that "industry" of baby-killing that press women into the "terrible position" of having their babies barbarically killed. If they didn't, they wouldn't stay in business, making money from slaughtering the innocent and defenceless, whom it is our duty to protect from harm. And a baby who happens to have Down's Syndrome has the same right to life as any other person – shame on you for suggesting such a baby ought to be killed. Sadly, the Devil has many followers – abortion is his clearest manifestation (and most effective tool) in this world. St Michael, protect us from the great evil of the massacre of our unborn children.

Guys, vilifying the mothers will get us nowhere. Most women who get abortions feel coerced into it or feel there is no other alternative. They need compassion and help, not hatred.
Remember that 1 in 4 women have had an abortion by age 45 – I think Matthew is right – these women (the abortionists) see the video and know in their heart of hearts what they are doing. They perhaps have had an abortion themselves and are suffering from the loss. This is not a reason to hate them.
In a way, anonymous is right – reducing abortion to baby-killing is overlooking the other victim. The mothers need as much love as their children. If you fail to love them and accommodate them – if their hearts cannot be changed, then the baby is lost.
I wish more pro-lifers could see this. It's about more than just the baby.

Jill, nobody vilified the mothers.
Most mothers who choose abortion don't know what it really looks like. They haven't seen something like this video, which makes it crystal clear. If they saw this video of an actual D&E I very much doubt many would still choose abortion. Look how many change their minds just from a sonogram.
Abortionists, though, know exactly what they're doing. They may not have seen this video in particular, but they've DONE the deed. They've ripped the babies apart. They've crushed the skulls. They've counted arms and feet to make sure they got it all.
I don't vilify the mothers who choose abortion. I reserve that for the abortionists, those who know exactly what abortion looks like and still rabidly support abortion-on-demand, and those supporters who refuse to watch an actual abortion when they have an opportunity. They are (in order) monsters, monsters, and cowards.
Oh, and your penultimate paragraph. Replace "abortion" with "infanticide" and see how ridiculous the statement is.
Yes, the mothers need love. They need to be supported throughout their pregnancy and after (which is what the local groups I support do). They need forgiveness if they regret a previous abortion. But their "victimhood" is secondary to the baby's (sorry, but it's true). They are not a victim of abortion unless they've had an abortion.

I might be willing to condone sex ed in schools if they agreed to show a video like this one as well. They want "comprehensive," we'll give them comprehensive. This video alone would keep many from having premarital sex, knowing that if they got pregnant, they could never ever do something so gruesome as having an abortion and killing a child.

Let me write this before reading the other posts: Give them their money back. GIVE THEM THEIR MONEY BACK. CBR cannot be sued for libel, or false witness, or damages by telling the truth. Actually, the abortionist going into court may be sued for perjury as only the TRUTH is allowed in a court of law…the rest of the judges ought to recuse themselves. They shall stand up to be condemned. Bring the catalogue of aborted dead baby body parts in the court and submit it as exhibit 1.

The abortionists were sickened by their inaction to help these babies and their mothers. The abortionists were sickened by their own inhumanity. The scabs they formed over the truth of the living human being in the womb were torn off and they saw the leprosy of their own soul. Abortion is an everlasting horror.

@Matthew A. Siekierski: All person, all Americans are victims. These unborn victims of abortion are "our (constitutional) posterity" (Preamble)who constitue our nation from the first moment of their existence. Their souls are created in perfect moral and legal innocence, the standard of Justice for our nation and the compelling interest of the state to defend and protect their lives, their virginity and their innocence, which is the duty, the DUTY of the state. Fallible Justice is a contradiction.

I just read CBR's post on Bishop Zurek denying Father Frank Pavone his mission. This is the only case where another innocent person's life is at stake and Bishop Zurek, known only to God, is liable for all the children aborted under his watch because of his actions, as surely as Bishop Zurek is blessed for all of God's childen brought into being under his shepherding. Another person comes into being and existence through the will of God, and only through the will of God. Abortion defies the will of God.

In America, the aborted baby’s body is exchanged for money, but it is still cannibalism.

As expressions of God’s will, every human being is a copyright of God. God has a copyright on each and every human being, a veritable patent on mankind. It is said so in The Declaration of Independence: created equal and endowed by our Creator. Abortion is copyright infringement on the copyright right God has on each and every human being. Abortion is copyright infringement on our Declaration of Independence. Copyrights and patents expire after seventy or so years, but God’s patent and copyright on the existence of the human being is eternal and immortal. God’s patent on mankind is man’s living soul, copyrighted when two become one. Extend this copyright, patent law to our founding principles the basis for our Constitution.

I had a conversation today with an acquaintance who told me about a woman he met who works or worked for an abortion clinic, who described to him how she came to oppose late-term abortion because of seeing its grisly reality for herself, though it sounded like she was not yet entirely pro life. She stated also that she "had no family because she had killed them all" (this was the way she put it, according to him). It was a heartbreaking story. Please pray for God's mercy and healing for this woman, initials D.K..

"1 in 4 women have had an abortion by age 45"
Statistically, but not really. You're forgetting that many women have had more than one abortion, which skews the average. I didn't know this myself until one of my classmates used PP's statistics to show the "failure rate" of PP's own stated mission of giving information and access to birth control.
Also, being charitable to women SHOULD NOT include taking part in the deceptive PR campaigns of abortion clinics.
