Watch this video from tonight’s GOP debate and answer me these questions. Why the hell is Santorum not leading the polls and what the hell is wrong with Mitt Romney. Obamacare is not worth getting angry about? Unreal. Please someone spare us from this fate.
Santorum absolutely dismantles Romney on the mandate issue and Romney is absolutely clueless, CLUELESS, about the principles involved.

My only hope is that Mitt and Newt devour one another with their rancor and above cluelessness and Santorum is the last man standing. I swear, God could install a neon "PICK ME" sign over Rick's head and most Catholics would still sit around scratching their heads.
I am stymied. Stupified.

I thought he was brilliant tonight as well. Go Santorum!

Santorum is not leading the polls because it took him at least three previous debates spouting the same attack and finally nailing it here.. if you're watching the debates for the first time, sure it's spectacular, but for the rest of us, including Mitt Romney here, it's pretty worn and old..

The reason Santorum isn't leading is that the establishment's pick is Romney, and folks like Matt Drudge and Ann Coulter are pulling out all the stops to ensure Romney gets the nomination. You see, the Republican establishment always and only picks barely-right-of-center candidates for their presidential nominees, and they know they can keep doing this because they know they can always count on the majority of Republican sheeple voters to support the party's nominee no matter what with the pathetically weak justification "but the Democrat is worse." Sadly, this very blog was involved in this with its support of neocon McCain in '08, just as it will be with its inevitable support of Romney when he gets the nomination in '12. Not that Gingrich has a chance to beat the establishment's choice of Romney, but theoretically, even if Newt did win, CMR would also end up backing him despite all that's been said and posted here. So do you see now how the Republican neocon machine works? Republican lemming voters have themselves to blame for tolerating this system and even perpetuating it.

Rick is knocking the ball out of the park with each passing debate. It is absouluetly wonderful how he has come into his own. Go Rick!
January 27, 2012 at 6:29 am
Had Santorum not had to try and talk through 8 others in the early debates he might be the frontrunner.
January 27, 2012 at 3:09 pm
Romney dismisses concerns over Obamneycare with the wave of a hand, annoyed that Santorum would dare even bother him again with this line of inquiry – just like a "patrician jerk who is out of touch".
January 27, 2012 at 4:18 pm
All I have to say is: DID ANY OF YOU PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR SOUL IS YET AND DONATE TO SANTORUM?
Sorry for the all caps. Maybe all of you did. But, even if you only have $5 to donate, if you believe in Rick's candidacy, you ought to support it. He could use the help and the money and even if he doesn't win, it would not have been a waste.
Just sayin.

Why yes, as a matter of fact, I have and will continue to donate to Rick Santorum. He has my prayers as well!

@Frederick Manligas Nacino: "Santorum is not leading the polls because it took him at least three previous debates spouting the same attack and finally nailing it here". Santorum nailed it here because Santorum learned, actually learned. Romney refuses to be influenced by facts, truth and our first freedoms as conveniently as Obama. Does it really matter whose boot is on your neck, when the boot is on your neck?

The selection of a presidential candidate requires many facets; perhaps the greatest is charisma.
We face, with the encroachment of government in everyday life as well as its direct frontal attack against religion — a leader who has the charisma to rally Americans.
Alas, Rick Santorum, who has many great qualities does not meet the call for charismatic leader the way Newt Gingrich does.
On a scale of 1-10 for charisma, Santorum is a 3-4; Newt is an 8-9 (Obama is a clear 9 — which shows you the importance of this attribute).
What Newt has beyond his leadership charism, is a fairly balanced set of pro-freedom, pro-religious, fiscally restrained philosophy.
Santorum has stronger attributes on those three. He might be a 9, where Gingrich is an 8. But the leadership charism trumps the others by a long-shot.

Giving up our right of freedom, and having the government dictate that we must spend money on a product of their choosing, not OUR choosing is sure worth getting angry. Mitt is a little clueless about freedom.

Really? You think the most consequential aspect of a president is his charisma?
This song makes more and more sense.

LOL! There's a difference between RickRomRich?? We wouldn't even HAVE Obamacare if not for Santorums endorsement of Spector, giving Obama the one vote he needed. Santorums precious priciples didn't give him one bit of trouble endorsing the lefty pro-abort Spector. But NOW, I'm sure he's a "changed man" and regrets it. Ugh.
January 28, 2012 at 4:17 am
I don't know. I thought Romney won that exchange…aside from the one slip-up "it's not worth getting angry about." Romney remained cool, put out numbers, and explained coherently his reasoning and why he thinks his plan is different from the President's. Santorum lost his cool and sounded overly argumentative.
January 28, 2012 at 4:20 am
(for the record, I'm not a Romney supporter by any means. While Santorum lost my vote when he said that he hoped America was assassinating scientists abroad, Romney never had my vote. I am voting for Ron Paul in the primary, for what it's worth.)
January 28, 2012 at 10:20 am
Rick Santorum won the debate because he had the facts on his side & fought like a man. Obama quoted a movie once, saying if his opposition brings a knife, he brings a gun. Whoever goes up against this community disorganizer better bring an Uzi & a bullet proof vest & be ready for a bunch of gangsters, because what Newt & Mitt have been dishing will be nothing compared to these smiley faced Chicago way thugs, who will probably have illegal aliens & dead people voting for them & pulling every low down ends justifies the means trick in the book.

That was a waste of 4.5 minutes.
You got it all wrong. If you like YouTube videos to make the point:

If you think charisma is NOT one of the top facets of a President — I beseech you to study our history.

" Why the hell is Santorum not leading the polls ?"
Well, Santorum Loves big govt and War and he does not understand the just war theory, he likes torture and he is pretty much a Neocon…… so he is the prefect "establishment" Catholic.
Mark shea explains it much better than I can in a very convincing way….
Please read, "Murderers For Jesus"

@Gregory: I will respectfully decline on your offer to read Mark Shea, as he continuously attributes to the Magisterium moral pronouncements which simply do not exist. Greater moral theologians than Mark Shea have pointed out that the Church's stance on torture is anything but consistent and that the Church has always admitted that capital punishment is moral and just when undertaken within certain criteria.
