Being Catholic, Birth control is not a right, it is an sin. You don't have the RIGHT to reproductive freedom. Sex is for procreation only, not a sport.
"sex is for procreation only"- no- there is also a unitive purpose within marriage (but yes- it isn't a sport)- a couple who know they are infertile are permitted to have sexual relations
@ Anonymous,
Sex is not only for procreation. It is part of the Sacrament of Marriage. It is as much for the good of the spouses as it is for the conception of children. Marriage is to image Christ's love for his Church, in that it is a total giving of one to the other. It seems so simple, and it is so liberating. I think your comment was meant to be snarky? I could be wrong, but it seemed worth clarifying anyway.
The Health Care Tax Credit allows smaller churches to pay less for health insurance. Obama sponsored that one in 2010. Non-Catholics paid taxes to help Catholics pay for health care, regardless of whether they support Catholic activities or not. Now that it is time for Catholics to give back a little bit by supporting others, irregardless of whether it is for a Catholic activity or not, Catholics take support but refuse to give it. For those of us who would not give the same sort of support back, we need to refuse that support in the first place, otherwise we owe something and are just being greedy. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/424068_346617248702877_174612345903369_1059579_235136406_n.jpg
"Catholics take support but refuse to give it." Huh? Because Catholic hospitals, universities, elementary schools, daycare centers, food pantries, homeless shelters, medical clinics, crisis pregnancy centers, charities in the developing world, etc., etc. turn away people who are not Catholic?
Since when do we just expect the Church to be in the business of doling out "support" from the government? Is that how it goes now?
The Church shouldn't be getting anything from the government, as there are always strings attached. Have we forgotten that we are an institution of charity? That means WE decide how, where, why and what for when we give, with complete freedom.
Have we forgotten that the money the government is doling out is our money? Every person conceived comes into existence at the will of God. Contraception denies the will of God, our Creator, and insinuates the evil one, the destroyer. Divine Providence is rejected, the immortal soul of the sovereign person is alienated, disowned and we are looking for prosperity?
Our founding fathers pledged their lives and their SACRED honor for freedom. Have we forgotten that every step in progress is guided by God? Every cent in the ecomony is bestowed by God? Every good thing is blest by God? and every evil thing is cursed by God?
SEX like everything God created is to get man to heaven. If you do not believe in heaven then you ought not believe in sex, that is, real sex. The counterfeit sex is from the devil.
The "exemption" offered is so ridiculous as to be laughable… That the Catholic organization that qualifies for the religious conscience "exemption" must employ virtually all Catholics and must serve virtually only Catholics!!! The media is not even broadcasting this anti-Catholic/anti-American garbage from this adminisitration. Does the CHA agree with Keehan? If so, eliminate their 'Catholic designation' dear bishops. If not please publicly censure Keehan!
