This is the oddest news I’ve seen all day. Wyoming, in preparation for some kind of doomsday wants to buy an aircraft carrier. I’m not kidding. They want to buy a lot of other stuff but aircraft carrier was the one that jumped out at me.
Trib.com reports:
State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.
House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.
The task force would look at the feasibility of Wyoming issuing its own alternative currency, if needed. And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier.
Hey, I’m all for a little doomsday preparation. I’ve got some canned goods and some flint to make a fire. But I’ve gotta’ admit I didn’t think of an aircraft carrer. My only question to Wyoming is…uhm…where you gonna’ put it? Unless you’ve also got a provision for some pretty big wheels, I don’t see much coastline surrounding Wyoming.
Unless they’re planning on making everything west of them to California just western Wyoming. In that case, maybe it’s not such a bad idea.

Even if California quakes off in to the Pacific there still needs to some water, but on the whole it is a good idea. Why? Because some people need to be sobered up. With Obamacare, the taxpayers will be charged $600.00 for every pharmaceutical costing $20.00 today to salve the palms of contributers and lobbbyists and one world governmentalists and every other tyrant. Who was it who said: "If you think health insurance is expensive now, wait until it is free."?

Well there is a body of water in Wyoming called Ocean Lake, maybe that's where the aircraft carrier will go? http://gf.state.wy.us/accessto/Whmas/ocean.asp

Anonymous 7:57 There is only one real woman and her name is the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. Say one Hail Mary for me, or a rosary if you have the heart. One said for you. Anonymous 8:18 I will not kill you but Obamacare will. See you on the other side.
@Ryan: Is the carrier armed, we may need it. I do not like the god of no love or noone to love him. Only the Triune God of Love is my God.

I want one too…been saving since I was a little kid. Think of the fun you could have.
But Wyoming should build a flying sub instead. In time of need, they could launch it from their lake like an ICBM and into whichever ocean they need.
MAN! I've gotta stop watching old Volron with my kids.

We, Texans, have been stocking up since Obama became president. On everything. 😉

Supposedly someone once tried to sell Tom Clancy (as in the spy-novel writer) a nuclear sub. I think it was after the breakup of the USSR, when they held the closest thing to a military yard sale in history, but still, a nuclear submarine? I think Clancy called the appropriate authorities ("So, this is going to sound really weird, but…").
Also, I'm really glad I wasn't the only one who noticed Wyoming is landlocked. Maybe there's a really big lake they can put it on? Aircraft carriers are the size of large apartment buildings.

@Sophia's Favorite: An associate of mine was offered an entire SS-20 missile, by the former commander of a Soviet Rocket Forces base. After the dissolution of the USSR, he essentially took "ownership" of it – the entire base – and was selling stuff off to whomever he could. He was planning to fake the destruction of the missile under the auspices of the INF Treaty.
Price was rock bottom, so my associate declined with excuses regarding "delivery and maintenance issues". HA! (Not to mention just a few other problems.)
